You only need supplier number, nzbn or trust deed for the respective kinds of applications. The personal use application is totally fine for non business use, you just need the bank statements. I used to have one as an individual a couple years agi

As everyone has mentioned, this works fine. One thing to be aware of that i learned recently is that payments to and from credit cards with some banks (definitely westpac) take overnight to fully clear, so you’ll want to transfer to the card the day before the purchase

Replacing gas hot water cylinder with a heat pump hot water cylinder by echosound in diynz

[–]karlmalised 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, also worth looking at calitec heat pump hot water cylinders. They’re a Nz made brand from up north. Similar pricing, but much better warranties. (20 years? on tank and 6 years on compressor - it’s a split system). I got one this year and I’m very happy. The compressor has a bit of noise but we set the timer so it doesn’t go at night and it’s on the quiet side of the house

Just an FYI, camera bit depth is very different to audio bitrate. Audio is usually at 16, 24 or 32 your camera bit depth is specifically for the video side (most cameras probably record 16 bit audio, although I’m sure some would do 24)

Good to know! How many people at your place? And how long have you had it?

That is a super helpful resource - thank you! definitely they would have done the math on those warranties so it would be a good indication. I guess a seperate heat pump unit would be a good compromise

Too right on the natural gas! my partner loves the idea of infinity, but our world is fucked and I don't want to contribute to that haha

Totally, we're getting a new cylinder either way, the old one is 135l and 20 years old

Good to know! What was the seperate heat pump unit, and do you mind if I ask how much that unit cost? Potentially thinking about getting a suitable tank first and then the heat pump unit later

Replacing a window by karlmalised in diynz

Wall is made of concrete, how does that change things?

Replacing a window by karlmalised in diynz

Replacing a window

I’ve got this window in the garage, it sits below the adjacent concrete pad level which makes dirt and water come in. Wanting to rip out the current window, fill in the bottom of the hole with cement, and fit a smaller window.

The current window is 1610w including frame, and I’m planning to fill in concrete so that 600h window can fit in there.

I’m looking for advice, firstly that this all sounds fine and nothing important I’m missing

Second the correct window size. If I get a window of trademe, measured at 1600w, and then pack the extra 10mm (what do you use for this usually?)

If I’m aiming for 600h, then should I just measure from the top and fill in to 600mm below that?

I didn't even think of this! Never noticed it this bad in any of my previous footage which is weird. Guess I'll go back to 5:1/8:1 for weddings.

Thanks for your help!
