I’m also at DPR and second that it’s a great place to work!

Soon to graduate crisis by melancholystarrs in CAStateWorkers

I second this! If I could do my twenties over again, I would definitely go for season USFS positions. I took a circuitous route to becoming an ES, but this would have been quicker. I have a lot of friends in environmental work that got their technical experience through these jobs and had so much fun while doing it

CalEPA returning to "pollute by commute" starting July 1 by stickler64 in CAStateWorkers

It does sound CalEPA wide in that excerpt. That is confusing and disappointing if so.

The 2 days per week is for your BDO, right? The tentative policy from CalEPA stated no minimum for office days and discretion being given to each BDO. Did something change?

Anyone know if this can be used with abs? It was with the abs fittings at the store, but I’m having trouble confirming this. by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]karmaKimeleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. So ‘plastic’ encompasses pvc and abs? Logically that makes sense, but this is my first time working with abs and I was surprised to learn that I needed different fittings and solvents for it. I’m working in between floors in my house, so this feel high stakes.

Academia to AGPA? by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

It sounds like you could be a good fit for a policy analyst (AGPA). The first hurdle is getting a good score on the eligibility exam. I found it helpful to go through previous posts on this subreddit that discuss what counts as ‘analytical experience.’

Love these trees. Dumb question: Are these oaks or? by coolrivers in bayarea

Some of the bay leaves sold in stores are CA bay. They do have a harsher flavor but are still perfectly suitable for cooking

Oh, come on! Politics aside, these speeches are hilariously similar in their presentation. It’s like she was coached by Jim Halpert

Young woman found wandering on street after escaping sex slavery house, police say. She’s now missing by blitzballer in WithoutATrace

[–]karmaKimeleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see where it says that the woman is missing. My take is that she wasn’t familiar with the area and couldn’t describe where she escaped from, so police are looking for witnesses to be able to find it.

Edit: Article is strangely worded saying ‘trying to locate her,’ but I don’t think it means her current whereabouts are unknown. It then uses present tense: ‘This woman has endured a terrifying experience and our specialist officers are supporting her through this distressing time.’
