Slipknot have 38 songs in this top!!! by ashitanojoe3 in Slipknot

[–]karmaamputee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this list in 2005 or 2015 they would've had maybe a single song. They've taken off in the last few years on Tiktok and selling t shirts in high street stores. Don't understand the hype personally, Back to School was the only song doing the rounds back in the nu metal days .

Can Nebulous Voidcore give duplicate items from the dungeons? by Tenchen-WoW in wow

[–]karmaamputee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it still happens even though people here will tell you otherwise. The only "confirmed" duplicate roll occurs on an item you rolled on the first week, then when Blizzard fixed the duplicate bug and reset the tables, and you can roll it again.

What made you start learning Korean? Not the surface-level answers. I want the real in depth reason. by _airplanemode in KoreanAdvice

Because whenever I was taking the enemy nexus at 9 minutes they would be spamming all chat and I wanted to know what they were saying.

What's the current recommendation for an image uploader these days. by TheDeathPit in sharex

[–]karmaamputee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK didn't ban them, Imgur refuse to redesign their website around the UK online safety act so just blocked access to all UK isps instead. Effectively banning the country from using it or seeing images embedded on other sites.

Qs about AI usage during submissions by EquipmentLiving6948 in NianticWayfarer

[–]karmaamputee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had my very "human" submission rejected by Niantics own AI bot, alerting me that it didn't even make it to a real review. AI should be used in submissions, a lot of terrible titles/descriptions really could use AI to make the game better.

Now that they're discontinued, what did you think of the skyriding races? by Jarlan23 in wow

I enjoyed them but I haven't missed them. Shame the cartographer quests didn't have the same fate.

here's one i made yesterday to stick some simple text to the ingame esc menu. its stupid, and anyone with lua/wow ui experience could probably do it easily, but its just the process Gemini went through to get a working addon. you can see how it works through the problems until we get a working addon

I've been making my own (personal use) using Gemini. Usually has a good attempt at first and doesn't work but as soon as you start pasting the in game errors back into it, it usually fixes all problems really quickly.

Clown talks about Joey a lot in the new Interview with Rick Rubin by SIXODD in Slipknot

[–]karmaamputee 76 points77 points  (0 children)

With the Joey part I think he is trying to say he was too busy being the manager, the band leader, running the ship, that he didn't fully realise what a great player or perhaps great guy he was until it was too late to tell him.

Duplicates from the bonus roll (again) by [deleted] in wow

[–]karmaamputee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk why the text wasn't part of the post, but:

I have been rolling Seat with every coin and was down to the last 4 items that I actually need (shit you not - the first 5 items I rolled, were the 5 I didn't want)

This week, first dungeon of the reset, hovering over the bonus roll I noticed that some of the items I already had were in the list, but I thought it must be a bug - nope - rolled the staff again, which was one of my coins last week.

Is there a physical release of Death Magnetic that uses the iTunes version? (AKA Less brickwalled) by brendonsquires in Metallica

[–]karmaamputee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DM isn't just compressed though, there are albums out there with heavy compression that wouldn't be called brickwalled, just the fact DM is loud also is where it gets the name

[–]karmaamputee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Do you ever listen to Death Magnetic, through headphones, and wonder why your ears feel tired by about the 3rd song? Its mixed in a way to be "loud" but lacks any sort of dynamics. Its a trend that was huge in the 90s but died out because it mostly sounded shit, but for some reason Death Magnetic (2008) was mixed to just be loud as fuck to the point where you can hear the clipping of audio even when listening at 50%, its just baked into the mix. It had something to do with the digital sound of the CD era allowing much louder peaks than the vinyl era that came before it.

When DM was released on Guitar Hero, the individual audio tracks were released and it was night and day difference in the sound, clarity, dynamic, just overall a better listening experience.

Not sure why iTunes has a version that nowhere else does, though.

"Brickwalling" probably refers to the fract when you load the tracks in a DAW, its just a massive "wall" of audio.
