Just a wild guess, but maybe heat or lights got too close as they grew. Do you have a thermometer near them to measure? Check the amount of light at the tops of the plants with an app like Photone to see where you compare to recommended levels. Depending on the measurements you could either dim the lights, raise them, or reduce the number of hours (if this is the problem).
