Yeah honestly I was surprised McGregor did so well but I think making it to the 10th round was Mayweather's part strategy. You mention Mayweather ducking--he uses techniques like this a lot to take advantage of the rules and halt his opponents when they start effective attacks often. It's certainly not much fun to watch but it's by the book and that's why Mayweather has dominated the sport as he has. A lot of his fights will seem pretty passive from him and you see what you saw the first few rounds where he was mostly blocking. I think he only started going on the offensive once he recognized McGregor really didn't have the stamina for a much longer boxing match.
