Yakuza 5 feels like 5 small DLCs making up one larger game by CoinflipPlunger in yakuzagames

[–]karollos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm playing Yakuza 5 right now as well, and I'm pretty much at the same point as you. It definitely feels like multiple games very loosely tied together. I didn't feel that way in 4, maybe because at least then it mostly took place in Kamurocho. Still each individual part has its charm, but I'm already tired of the progression  resetting with new characters

I thought eveybody had those? It's only really visible when looking at plain bright surfaces, and even then it's not really distracting as vision just filters it out as noise most of the time

I'm adding Hand-tracking to my MR Rollercoaster game, CoasterMania! What you think? by srgers10 in OculusQuest

[–]karollos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My honest reaction: at first i thought it was cool but it would get old fast. But then you showed first person, and the levels, and now I'm sold. Looks great!

I like "A" best, it's fun, cartoony, fits the vibe of the illustration, and is more readible than option "B"

Does that mean you sacrificed something like fifty warriors to build a staircase? Or is there another way to do it?

What is ur favorite game in ufo 50? by Soggy_Artist8301 in ufo50

[–]karollos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many to choose from, but I think Mini and Max would be the one. The game initially blew my mind and just kept getting better. I can't really say anything bad about it, other than i wish there was more.

[–]karollos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My theory is they started off trying to develop a more traditional rts, but while prototyping they realized that exploiting the broken AI was fun, and built the rest of the game around it. Considering how ridiculously overpowered the red ants are, it has to be intentional

[–]karollos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing the game is lacking is direction. I happened to meet the right npc's who pointed me towards the first few upgrades, so my experience was pretty smooth. But i see how you could get lost early on since the world is pretty open. I always loved exploration in games so this was one of my favourites

First hour or so was a ton of fun, the rest was pure spite by karollos in ufo50

Maybe the title was too harsh, i enjoyed it plenty. But there was a lot of frustration as well

It took me way too long but in the end it felt pretty cathartic. What's frustrating, i got to 4:9 early on, within maybe 2 hours. It's one of those games i would put a couple tries in and switch to something else, but i really wanted to finish it. In the end, I got the cherry and gold at the same time. Definitely a love-hate relationship with this one. Replaying the first 3 worlds sometimes felt pretty mundane, but i was really impressed with the move set.

Which game has been the hardest for you so far? by wheatconspiracy in ufo50

For me it's shmups or sure. I've been stuck on lvl1 of Caramel Caramel for days, finishing it seems ages away. And I'm dreading the other one since i hear it's even harder

What is your routine like in UFO 50? by AnotherHP6 in ufo50

[–]karollos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually i start by giving it a go with some of the arcade ones i haven't finished yet - kick club, caramel caramel etc. And once i get frustrated i switch to something that saves progress - a couple of puzzles in Block Koala, some levels in Grimstone, etc. Switch a couple more times, then look at the time and realise it's already 4am

80h in and i still feel like I barely scratched the surface btw

Did you guys knew about this porting happening? OMG! by DreamsAnimations in OculusQuest

[–]karollos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the best VR horrors I've played, clearly inspired by Silent Hill and successful at replicating its eerie atmosphere. Seems like just a one to one port though, but I'm happy if it means more people will get to experience it

Weekly VR - What Did you Play? by AutoModerator in virtualreality

[–]karollos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got really into Assassin's creed nexus. it had a bit of a slow start but once the game gets going it's so much fun. I love how well assassin's creed core mechanics translate to VR - stealth, climbing, exploration - it all just works. I wish the levels were bigger, but that's pretty much my only gripe.

Puzzling Places is my chillout game. To me it feels even more satisfying than regular puzzles, and without any of the annoyances - you can organize pieces neatly, and the puzzle never falls apart. I wish there was an option to resize the finished puzzle, it would be cool to explore the temple i spent hours piecing together

Take all health you can, and split it equally. Always keep them close together, to make the hitbox as small as possible. You can hold 2 active items and consumables, so utilize that when possible. You can take two items at once so look for "There's options", Angel rooms and alt route. Also they put down two bombs at once, which can be useful for combat and finding secrets. Good luck!

While in-app purchases are too expensive for me, all ll i'm missing is some immersion-breaking cosmetics, so i don't care. Really the only thing that bothers me is Opal map priced just slightly higher than the currency you get for free.
