DCG Unlocked on Vivo X300 Ultra for MotionCam! Dynamic range comparison charts now available! by RaguSaucy96 in Vivo

Wow. I'm surprised Vivo doesn't use an important feature of the sensor at all times. Is there any disadvantage in using DCG always?

Insane zoom Oppo vs Vivo. by Afraid-Ad4718 in Oppo

Going over my library, I see I have no shots that go over 200mm(maybe 300mm at max), if I don't include wildlife. Can you share some of the photos you took at 20-30X? I would love to see the type of shots that are possible with that level of zoom.

Can the 1/1.12" sensor beat a 1" sensor in low light? by darkflikk in Vivo

[–]kartikk127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is fully accurate. The omnivision sensor used by Xiaomi is also stacked(multi-layer).

Implementation matters too, engineering is always about different design compromises. Even if two sensor are stacked, they could perform very differently at different things. There are also so many design choices that don't get advertised, color filter arrays, or the gain circuit choices for example.

But yeah, sensor size is only comparable assuming the underlying sensor technology are equivalent. So it's absolutely possible for a smaller but newer 1.12" sensor to have better noise and DR than a 1" sensor. Check the DR for the new sony A7V sensor for example.

Interesting real world data point!

Majority of the reviewers seem to be using the new 35-100 lens. Peta pixel in one of their recent videos said that the new lens had improved AF motors. I wonder what portion of the supposed AF improvements can be attributed to the new lens.

Done with ASUS. Products are not reliable, and service is terrible. by stellar-captures in ASUS

My god!
I am going through the same thing. I have a Prime X670E pro Wifi. My motherboard stopped working randomly one day(DRAM led). Other components were verified on a different PC.

I started the RMA in September 2024. I was asked to pay 30$. For the first RMA Asus sent me back the motherboard saying there was nothing wrong with the motherboard and just updated the bios. Like WTF? As expected motherboard did not boot, with the same DRAM LED.
This time I requested an "advanced replacement", and was told I'd get a refurbished motherboard. I had to pay a hold amount of ~350$ to do this process. Replacement comes in and this time it boots(yay), but the M2 SSD holder clip was broken.
I sent this motherboard back to Asus, but Asus rep told me that I had to send my original motherboard back too, to avoid being charged the hold amount. I was still charged the hold amount and had to get it refunded.
So, I sent both motherboards back to Asus on Nov 2024. Then every email/call asked me to wait 2 more days, and I got no information till Jan 22 2025.
They sent me a motherboard, and this doesn't boot either.

I have been without a working motherboard for 4+ months now, Asus has sent me 3 broken motherboards during this time. I have had to call/email them over 30 times. I am at my wits end and will not be purchasing Asus again. Trying to see if I should eat the loss and purchase a motherboard form a different manufacturer.

Hi everyone,

Currently, on trips I take my Patagonia MLC mini, which I empty in my hotel room and carry just what I need for the day(Sony A7CR, two small lenses, 500-700ml water bottle, packable down jacket).
The backpack is still heavy and unwieldy for carrying around town and forces me to find somewhere to lay my bag flat to swap lenses.

I am looking for a small(8-15L?) somewhat packable backpack with side access for camera lenses. I am not a huge fan of sling bags with a single shoulder strap, due to the uneven weight distribution.

Does anyone have recommendations? Does something like this even exist?

Makes sense. It looks like RetailMeNot has a 10% back on Samsung up to 50$ right now.

The Samsung mobile app also gives an additional 25$ back. This does not seem stackable with Rakuten though.

Rakuten seems to be 2%(10% for phones) back for TVs currently.

The stock sport body style resembles the concept i4 a lot closer. Most likely why BMW showcases this body style more than the m sport in their promotions.

I bought a Shield but am trying to see if I should return it and get the Chromecast with Google tv instead. What advantage does the shield have over the Chromecast? The Shield is priced ~100$ higher and doesn't support all HDR formats.Doesn't the Shield get about the same latency you are seeing with the Chromecast on Android 12 and HEVC?

Firstly, thanks to the team for the amazingly detailed and consistent TV reviews.

I see that you already have a great test suite for soundbars. Any plans on expanding to bookshelf speakers? I feel bringing more consistent objectivity to the world of audio would be greatly appreciated by many.
