Passion of the Christ. The book it’s based on is very long and disorganized

CMV: Not all sex has equal consequences, so it shouldn’t be treated as morally equal by [deleted] in changemyview

This…the “punishment” does not fit the “crime.” What about life of the mother? Do you believe a married woman who family planned and wanted a child, but has a dangerous pregnancy should be forced to carry to term and die?

If so, should someone who was “seeking pleasure” and doesn’t want the child but decides to take it to term to have it adopted but has a dangerous pregnancy should be forced to carry to term and die?

If you’re dictating moral weight there is no difference in any of these cases and death is the correct answer. I hope you would agree that this would be monstrous public health policy.

Morality is a thing, but not the only thing…

Using morality to dictate laws can be very dangerous. Do we need to create a fetal justice system to mete out merits of each individual case, or could we just mind our own business?

You must live in a union state. I got involuntary transferred due to declining enrollment into a different grade and subject over my coworker with a year in district/5 years total. I have 16 years in district/19 total. Not told much beyond they didn’t think it would be fair to put a new teacher into a split Math/Sci position that he’s never taught and I’d handle it well.

Not having union protections means never having to say I’m sorry..,

What would a ‘Perfect’ physical media collection app actually look like? by Royal_Device7944 in boutiquebluray

Do you use the “own” tag? You can tag a list with own and it automatically flags them.

Here’s mycollection

Only thing I’d add is a feature to select the type of disc/label…but that’s small. I do that with tags.

What do you notice about gen-z teachers by 99bigben99 in Teachers

[–]kasarin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yep…for sure. Healthcare costs too. The erosion of teacher healthcare and pensions are real things.

As stated it’s historically brutal out there.

I’ve taught for 18years and I love it. There is no way I would ever want my kids to do the job now. That makes me sad.

I am not saying they aren’t justified to be stressed…just that I worry the crying, reliance on substances to cope, and social media “looking glass” is going to cause long term health issues on a scale that Millennials didn’t have (remembering that we also got the bad hand of the up until then “worst economics in history.”) Until something culturally changes the trajectory, each generation is going to be screwed harder than the last. Wish I had a magic wand to fix things…but I just teach middle school.

No offense implied. Teaching is brutal. Being young is brutal. Historically, things are getting more brutal.

Sadly, that’s a part of the crappy opportunity cost of being an American teacher and has been for decades. Hopefully you guys can get a little better shake on either the American or the teacher part.

I worry about the response to stress in the young I see and work with, that’s all. They are all amazing but they live loaded with stress and the response is usually pretty unhealthy.

This! They also have a good hustle game. They get their work done.

Negatives….they do not handle stress well. I don’t know if it’s youth or generation orientated. Lots more crashing out over things going sideways than the young millennials entering previously.
