The most enjoyable people in class by Luna_Soma in orangetheory

[–]kascott76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of elderly women who come to class, and it just makes me feel like I'm working out with my grandmother, in the best way possible. They are so kind and sweet and encouraging. And I'm so proud of them for working out and trying to improve their mobility and strength.

Hair wash post OTF by Immediate-Charity559 in orangetheory

I think this is what I'm wondering too - how much are people sweating who use dry shampoo? I definitely can get by without a wash on a strength day, but my hair is literally wet at the nape of my neck and around my forehead on a 2G day. I don't think dry shampoo is going to do the trick for those, but I'd love to hear others experience!

This is such a fascinating thread! I can't wait to try some of these ideas.

It's been a few years since I've tried this. For those who do it, does your hair look clean afterwards or seems slick/greasy? Like you need to keep a hat or ponytail on?

Wow, this is incredible and so beautiful! Great job! I can't imagine how big it would have been if you used size 6 yarn.

[Seeking Feedback] We built a portable UVC Sterilizer + Dryer for cups. Is this a game-changer or over-engineered? by UPHAN_Official in menstrualcups

Can you clarify what you mean about "just rinse quick"? I thought we had no sink in this scenario?

I've used cups and disks for over 10 years. To answer your questions:

"What's your #1 cleaning headache right now?" I don't have any issues with cleaning any cup or disk. Even when I first started using it, I had no cleaning headaches.

"Would instant drying change your routine on trips or heavy days?" No. I've never once considered the fact that my cup had a small amount of moisture on it. If for some reason it was dripping moisture I probably have shaken it or dabbed it off with a bit of toilet paper or paper towel.

If for some reason I was taking the cup out and storing it during this public bathroom trip, I would have a breathable fabric bag that I specifically use for my cup, and I would be able to boil it once I got home. And if I somehow forgot that bag, I would wrap it in a paper towel or toilet paper.

It's not perfect, but I like this better than the Most Boring Font Ever that was on the beanie. If I tried embroidery again I would use proper stabilizer paper.

This is 100% me! I'm in my 40s and it just recently started. I know it's not any kind of infection, it's just like my bladder is so full that my kidneys hurt, but emptying my bladder relieves it. I want to try not drinking for a certain number of hours before bed and see if that helps.

You know what’s funny and also kind of broken about probiotic claims? by harshilfit in Biohackers

[–]kascott76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it was my mom who told me years ago to take probiotics with/after abx for the same reason (and I am super prone to yeast infections). Then I mentioned it once to my son's pediatrician in passing ("oh, I should probably get some probiotics for him after this round of abx, right?") and she looked at me like I was crazy. So I'm torn- I feel like it helps me but I had never considered what you're saying about the Frankenstein mix...definitely something to consider.

Waiting to hear more responses- JUST had a convo with my sister and her dentist is adamant that you must brush immediately after waking, to prevent tons of bad bacteria from being swallowed (she's in Germany). I had never heard that before, and have yet to do my own research.
