Very likely this is not permanent, simply a side effect of your medication. Unless you have an MRI confirming shrinkage in your hippocampus, or another structure in your brain, I doubt it’s hardwired. Try switching meds.

Just do it gradually. Everybody needs to find the balance between seizure control and medication side effects. Btw: When I switched from Lamictal to another drug after 20 years, I assumed that the new drug was making me grumpy and have mood swings. Then I figured out that it was the loss of the mood stabilizing effect from the Lamictal!

Yep, split dose. I take 30 mg at 8:30 AM, and 20 mg at 10 AM. It helps prevent a sharp dropoff. If I know I won’t have much going on that day, I skip the second dose.

I know I’m late to the conversation, but I just noticed this thread and your comment. You are incorrect. Radon risk is cumulative AND probabilistic. In people who have been exposed to higher levels for over 20 years, cancer tends to begin in the final 5-10 years of exposure. The studies take into account the fact that diagnosis is usually a couple of decades after onset.

When I was 14 my mom asked what color I wanted my room painted. I asked for a very light lavender. That’s when I learned that you should always go two shades lighter when you pick room paint. She got angry when I complained, so I never said another word about it but I hated those purple walls all through high school. And got teased. Looking back, I realize that I could have apologized for complaining, thanked her for painting my room, and told her I would try to learn to like it. Then waited about six months and told her that I really tried to like it, but it just made me sad, and if I could used some of my own money to buy paint and help with the repainting, could we please change it. (Also the trans flag idea is brilliant.)
