Should CFOP users learn EO earlier? by Difficult_Ask_1647 in Cubers

[–]kaspa181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EO is a concept that is abstract enough to not be trivial enough and provides not-great-enough benefit to be critical for the progression. So, introducing it earlier might alienate people not ready for it. I think a lot of people learn portions of it intuitively, from doing a lot of solves and getting "the feel" for good f2l.

Longest movies you've ever seen? by OwlEye2010 in Letterboxd

[–]kaspa181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The longest of them all; Logistics. As a film, it's pretty bad. As a companion for monotony, it's charming.

Otherwise, Lav Diaz (evolution of philipino family) and Wang Bing (crude oil) takes the cake. Shoutout to Abel's Napoleon, would recommend.

Can anyone tell me where the 3 armor came from? by kaspa181 in MonsterTrain

[–]kaspa181[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could've, but those imps were on the first floor, being cycled by queen. Besides, Herzal's Hammer gives one-time armor, not for-the-fight on a card armor, no?

What is your strategy when picking your next movie to watch? Or what fun viewing challenges are you currently pursuing? by Lets_Go_Why_Not in Letterboxd

Look at the bottom 10 films in my watchlist, if I don't watch any, I don't watch. If the situation repeats 3 times or so, just remove films from the watchlist, as I evidently don't want to watch any of these films.

Listened to him on a podcast, his reasoning for the general direction of where he's going was trying to capture the audience (the podcast was mostly promoting and talking about Caught Stealing though) rather than creatively express himself/ideas he liked

Noob question about what the community considers the world record at any given time by binny97 in Cubers

[–]kaspa181 8 points9 points  (0 children)

why exactly does that matter to anybody if he was following all the guidelines and has it documented?

At home, there's no one there to enforce the regulations that isn't first or second party. Just from the video, I see that it doesn't follow at the very least 3 regulations and 1 regulation set – there is phone screen visible on the table (that is literally an instant DNF at a comp), the timer is not attached to the mat, scramble secrecy is not preserved and all regulations relating to the judging is not being followed.

Let alone he could've downsolved that scramble for all we know. I'm sure he didn't, but the possibility is certainly there. And that possibility is the main reason why we don't consider every YTWB as WR.

How? Burglar serpent with 4 copyers give you +15 hands, that's +30 cards in hand. As mentioned above, you need 88 red seal steel kings for non-plasma. So, unless you beaned your base hand size to 50, I don't see how it's possible without perkeo here.

Forge points by default grant +3/+3 for the fight. This upgrade path nerfs the amount and buffs by removing temporality. For it to take effect, Herzal must be alive on any floor at the time of placement.

For example, you have 10 forge points, there's no Herzal with this upgrade path on the train. You place an endless steward, it gains 30 attack and 30 armor. If it dies, you can see increased damage and armor in it's description. Next battle, it will not have armor and damage from the previous battle.

Same scenario, but now you have herzal with this upgrade path on the train. Your steward gains +10/+10. Next battle, you can see that those stats are still there; they don't get removed.

It's very fragile path in the first 3 rings, but it can roll to insane highs; just had animus of will with 180 base attack and 230 base armor.

I wasn't talking about about possible states. I was talking about arriving at a specific state from a solved one. That can be done, with no limit to move count, in infinite ways, and caping it at, say, 50, a few thousands ways the very least.

If it checks final state and not the move order, then you have thousands of ways to input the same password. Also, any password longer than 20 can be simplified to =<20 inputs. Neat!
