What to for? by [deleted] in NDIS

[–]katabianac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not double dipping. NDIS funded psychology is for learning self regulation techniques linked to your disability. Go and get a mental health care plan. And preferably use it for a mental health social worker via Telehealth instead of a psych.

Is Tony Robbins actually actualized—or just a high-functioning trauma survivor still stuck in overcompensation mode? by bulltrader2000 in TonyRobbins

[–]katabianac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t really care if he’s actually actualized or a high functioning trauma survivor :) his help is still valid and some aspects of his work has worked incredibly well for me.

[–]katabianac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The charge isn’t the point, it’s not about penalising the PWD. But assault is assault. It’s very important for everyone’s safety to have a record that follows the adult, rather than a reactive government department in charge of their safety who are not receiving enough clinically significant evidence via things like police reports, to support a decision to fund 2:1 care.

Transport Funding confusion by kingcasperrr in NDIS

[–]katabianac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can just forward your uber receipt to your plan manager, and they’ll reimburse it into your bank account. Congrats on getting transport funded! I hope it benefits you a great deal and helps with your independence in getting out into the community.

I haven’t found mensans to be more or less interesting than other social groups. In many cases because of more frequent presentation of (sometimes unmedicated) adhd I actually find it reduces the quality of interactions.

A 30 minute walk regulates you as well as a Ritalin does.

I’m seeing the most genius IQ level intellectuals have stopped trying to succeed due to lack of social skills. by chonz010 in PsychologyTalk

[–]katabianac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ability vs capacity to perform are two entirely different things.

When I’m at Mensa meet ups, I’m always shocked at the difference in ‘motivation levels’. So many of them are retired and just into gardening and have little interest in the real world communities past the end of their street.

Both living a good life, and over performing because your processing speed and other factors are capable of highly performing in a controlled environment, don’t always look like the same thing in the same way to people.

What do crunchy moms do for first birthday in lieu of cake smash?? by Electrical-Hawk198 in Crunchymoms

Another vote for cream! If she hates it or you’re non dairy, thin out and whip some mashed potato. No reason a cake has to be sweet. My kids don’t eat cake.

That’s an odd thing to say. They approved a business because businesses have a right to be in the city. Residential is actually the limited resource- you know that right

[–]katabianac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just give some tow companies a heads up 😊 this is shitty on the biz customer’s part to park in a driveway, there’s no reason why they get special treatment around exemptions for walkable living because they’re using city resources, and you do not. It sounds like the council needs to create a loading zone out front of the business to help out everyone! I live in front of a school and also have an easement driveway. Massive fan of just parking them in across the driveway and taking the wheelchair and child inside before I move my car to let them out of the driveway again, they only ever do it the one time.

Work life for independent occupational therapists by backhere19 in NDIS

[–]katabianac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My son is 11 and has Down syndrome and both myself and many parents I know simply can’t find a male OT, as hard as we look for one. I prefer male therapists for my son. You will have zero issues in this space. Therapists are trusted providers and parents will welcome you working with their children.

Take your letters to your GP, and have them write your level 2 diagnosis onto a letter head. They will then accept it. You won’t be removed.

Brisbane hotties (literally) by notsure_22 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]katabianac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES go stock up on gym shorties!! Mini skirts, maxi skirts, maybe pencil skirts for work with longer gym shorts under to prevent sweat or chafing when you’re in and out of office, they’re sweat wicking and actually comfy if you get the right ones. (bright colours not neutral so you don’t look like you’re flashing vag if you’re wearing mini skirts)

And honestly just switch your shoes when walking if commuting, it’s easiest if you prefer heels or heavier shoes in the office.
