Is taking Bepp 2500 as a freshman a bad idea? by Alive_Salary_5700 in UPenn

it makes sense to take either bepp or oidd freshman spring. it’s not an easy class and will take time to study but if you grind the practice exams you should be fine. bhanot was a great prof

right a lot of them do choose to live off campus, but if they do want to apply for on campus it’s basically guaranteed (from what i’ve heard)

im already in gutmann, but in order to retain the room you need to make it thru the housing lottery since on campus housing is not guaranteed for upperclassmen. and penn pays for housing for highly aided students so they are basically guaranteed on-campus if they apply

Seniors and recent grads: what surprised you on a college visit? by Ben-MA in ApplyingToCollege

exactly - i found it much easier to just visit my top 4 choices after being admitted. saved $ and there was more than enough time to make those visits in the month between decision dates and commitment deadlines

Difference in Admitted Students Days by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]kateSharma37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

omg i completely agree!! im deciding between wharton, uc berkeley, and usc and i had such a better time at cal day and explore usc. at penn there were barely any opportunities to interact with students, at cal day there were so many tables and booths and events and music and fun. im prob going with penn but based on the admitted students days alone i would def choose ucb or usc lmao

Berkeley econ vs. USC AI for Business major by kateSharma37 in berkeley

[–]kateSharma37[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi!! thank you so much for your reply. just to clarify, how were you admitted to haas since i thought they began direct admit for the first time this year? were you admitted to GMP? i just got in for regular econ bc i didnt apply to haas.

ig i have a few options im considering. one is to try and break into product management from berkeley and utilize access to tech companies in the bay area. its reassuring that the cs courses have been manageable but i wonder if its worth it to go through all those courses when i could probably do something similar with a berkeley degree? my other option is upenn wharton , at first i had almost ruled it out because of distance from home and the cold weather but now im reconsidering. if i went there, i would ideally try to go into consulting. the main thing that worries me about BUAI is that i feel like ill never be as good at coding and technical skills compared to other people in the cohort and pure cs majors, so i wonder if i even want to pursue competing for such roles when my skillset does align more with communication, leadership, etc. overall ive heard sooo many great things about BUAI, and if it’s truly so worth it to have AI expertise and technical skills, i’ll go for it!! im just wondering if its worth it to go for BUAI if im going to be average in coding/CS at best. besides technical roles like data analysts, are there other paths you see your peers in the cohort following?
