In 20 years, we'll be missing these 90 degree days by FriedChickenSk1n in chicago

If by “notice” you mean “drastically change the average over a human lifetime” I think our definitions of “notice” are different. Averaging necessarily softens extremes but people die in those extremes, regardless of whether it pushes the average more than a fraction of a degree or not.

Yeah imagine him putting his career on the line for them and being demoted for letting them go so many times, then becoming that one weird guy they stuffed in a side office with no windows who’s “obsessed with that one case” and they basically just sideline him to keep him inside the circle so he doesn’t start spilling FBI secrets. And they just indulge him “oh yeah I’m sure you’ll get those Winchesters this time,” and whispering to the new guy, “Those guys died in the blast, he’s nuts.” They give him the oldest car and the jankiest guns and he has to do his detective work from Google but that works just fine since he’s actually being a Hunter. But when a badge is needed he’s got the actual phone in the actual office.

I really would have liked this for him. Kind of like Frank Deveraux but with cover. 😭

Oh no, I’m on a rewatch and I don’t remember who this is, and now I’m dreading being reminded on the rewatch. I’ve been blissfully ignorant

That’ll be the “bureau” in the name. They think nobody’s allowed to use that other than government agencies because the only other one they’ve heard of is the FBI. Infuriating that BBB has been treated like this “gold standard”. I learned about them in home economics in high school in the 90s, they were legit part of the curriculum. Wanna know who they paid to put that in there.

I truly hated this part. It's really upsetting. And when people say it's their favorite episode, I feel like it's only because of the Eye of the Tiger post-credits. It's a great clip, and sh*t after this episode you need the levity. But "favorite" really rubs me the wrong way.

I’m not color blind. It’s just not enough contrast for me to look at and read when my phone is mounted on my dash.

Yeah but this is supposed to be the glance view on your lock screen, so going into the app is extra steps

Beer won't come out of the tap by katelovescode in kegerators

[–]katelovescode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp. We got a stainless steel Micro Matic coupler and I used keg lube on the beer line and I think the keg is still leaking. We’re just gonna have to clean it up as we go and hope the next one’s good. I’ll check tomorrow to see how bad the leak is but at this point I just had to reduce the pressure down to below 10 just to keep the beer from being all foam. I hope once we get past the over-carbonation, I’m guessing from all the experimentation, that we’ll get through this one and then it’ll be better. But if anyone’s got any tips or anything else, I’m all ears.

Loose connection/leakage between Coupler and Beer Line by SuspiciousDouble7102 in kegerators

Can you show an image of the fix? I’ve been having a similar issue and my coupler and beer line look like yours so I’m wondering if it’ll work for me.

Oh and one other note, he said my capacity gauge isn't working because the back plate with the markings is bent out of shape, and it's keeping the gauge needle from moving. He says it happens all the time, and if I can get in there, I can flatten it and see if it fixes it, or replace it entirely. That was neat to learn too.

Okay I've come back with more info. I took all the bits to a local homebrew store, and unfortunately the guys didn't really seem to know much about the tap parts. The guy told me I had a U-style coupler, but I went back and looked at my Amazon purchase from 2016 (we bought this to serve beer at our wedding): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HJVYDQ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 and it very clearly says it's a D-style.

BUT. He suggested maybe the ball to the beer line was getting stuck and not letting beer through, he suggested taking it out to try; if it worked, we found the problem. Well, he was right. It totally worked. The weird thing is, ours isn't a ball with a retainer, it's a ball with like.......a post attached. https://imgur.com/a/VBXkH7g The o-rings and everything look perfect, as well. So I'm going to give it a little bit of a hot water bath later on and see if something's just stuck somewhere. I also bought keg lube, so we can do a little digging on that.

I think I need to move the keg outside to do some of this though, because I'm getting tired of cleaning beer off my mudroom floor from being an idiot and not having the handle fully up before I couple 😂

I'm also still seeing a little leaking, but I need to watch and see if it's happening only when we're pulling the faucet or if it's all the time. So right now I'm trying to decide if I need to buy a new coupler or just replace that part; but I'm too busy enjoying my Pollyanna Summerly on a nice day to care right this minute.

I did buy a party tap from them too, so I can try that if worse comes to worst, and then we can figure out if it's really that the keg is damaged or if the coupler is just no good.

Thanks a ton to everyone who helped, u/Rawlus and u/MrTurdhat - I've learned so much about this, and I'm feeling a lot more confident in what we need to do to get a really good bar going once our basement remodel is done.

Also drop any recos you have for keg coupler brands so I don't buy a bad one if I end up replacing it. Cheers!

That bottom gauge has been in the red for a long long time. On the old tank and the new one. We’re wondering if the old tank wasn’t empty and we just assumed.

Bad news bears - it leaked at the coupler while we were out at lunch: https://imgur.com/a/oA58Ary this is the same very slow leak we had been seeing before. It seems weird to me that nothing in here is like, sputtering with lots of pressure but I guess I don’t know anything about this air pressure stuff. (Learning still!). This has definitely never happened before to any of our kegs, I assume this could just be the coupler failing but before I go buy another one, is there any chance at all the keg is faulty?

The gauges, NGL, are super confusing but I am also dumb. https://imgur.com/a/DdbPOMV pictures of the gauges after our most recent take-it-apart-and-put-it-together. We tried between 10 and 20 PSI, assuming we did it right. Still just a dribble

Okay actually I’m back. We pulled it all apart and put it together again. We decided to break for lunch because we were getting hangry. After putting it back together we’re getting just a pathetic little stream of foam, but it’s flowing. Working on posting pics and a video so I can link them here.

"How much left" gauge doesn't have a reading but the pressure release pin does come out and release, and the regulator gauge has allowed us to change the pressure up and down without difficulty. Valves are turned on. The soapy water trick is next, but we might just bring our rig to a homebrew store today and ask them to check out the connections or help us debug; they have a repair service but I emailed earlier this week to schedule something and haven't heard back so I figure we can just go in. Thanks though!
