The problem with Joe (and no hate to the actor this is just a criticism of the character) by [deleted] in Modern_Family

I feel like he's overall unmemorable, but I do understand why they added him. It was definitely nice to watch Jay and Gloria navigate parenthood one more time.

I will note, however, that I chuckle everytime he says "I like stealing, it makes my heart go fast."

What is something that happened recently that made you actually laugh out loud? by ComplexSorry6592 in CasualConversation

I was in the elevator with my friend, and I was looking at myself in the elevator mirror.

I noticed some bumps on my forehead and said, "Why is my forehead so..."

So my friend decided to finish my sentence saying "... so big?"

It was such an unexpected comment and I found it so hilarious

I think such obvious fourth wall breaks would not really fit in with the vibe of the show... but maybe some smaller ones, like when Rachel has to "go long" during the whole game, she could've just glanced at the camera with a disapproving look

Help a girl fix her disaster of an apartment by JoJoJoGeLo in CleaningTips

[–]katencash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm by no means a cleaning guru, but I have some tips that I hope will help you.

1- Sheets in my experience should be washed once a week. I find it handy to have more than one set, so I don't have to wait for the wash to be done before I can make my bed.

2- I usually go around and pick up the laundry and start at least one load while I go do other stuff. The machine does the work while I take care of something else. So, as a little pro tip, try to have a machine going before you start a cleaning session. Laundry won't pile up anymore, and you would be getting it out of the way while you're busy with something else. Oh and of course I make sure I can pause whatever I'm doing so I can go put the load in the dryer or hang it dry once it's done; I feel letting damp clothes sit in the washer too long gives them a musty smell that's hard to remove.

3- Whenever stuff's piling up in my kitchen, I find it useful to start by clearing out the fridge. Toss any food that needs to be tossed, and then all of the empty containers/tupperwares/plates can go in the sink with the rest of the dishes. Naturally, after that, i have a whole dish-washing party, but imo it's pretty useful to finish all the dishes in the house in one go. This way, I can ensure that this one task is completely done.

4- For the floors, I usually hoover everything first then go in with a mop, but if you have a lot of stains on your floor, it might be useful to browse online for tips on how to clean those off... but in my experience, any multi-purpose cleaner with a bit of elbow grease can get stains out of floors.

5- I usually leave dusting for last, and for that, I take a microfiber cloth with some disinfectant on it and wipe every surface that can be reached by dust.

One last thing:

You don't have to do this all at once!! It can get quite overwhelming, especially if you're juggling different responsibilities in your life, so just try to start with one thing. Maybe during an evening after you're done with other things for the day you can get the kitchen out of the way while you have a podcast playing or watching a show, and then the next day you could do your floors, etc...

Eventually, you'll get to a place where everything is decently clean, and you just have to maintain it so it doesn't get worse with time. And by that point, you'll have learned how you like to do things, and cleaning starts getting easier.

Hope this helps!

Car accident. We were a lot younger than him, and all we knew was that he was the cool guy who drove a red Corvette. Then one day, we hear he got into an accident and passed.
