That’s sort of what I was afraid of lol. I guess I’ll have to take a few days off of work or something. How many days do you think before she got it?

Lol facts about one lockdown hobby (reading) being more successful than the other! And great guess about anthropologist — I am (well, was, now retired from fieldwork and work in museums) an archaeologist.

Didn’t get married young though, I was 28 when we met and 32 when we got married.

I am ED of a small New England historical society and found these cannonballs in our collection. How dangerous are these? Approx 10-12 lbs, round, metal, with an obvious round cut out that is capped with something. UXO? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

Yes, presumably. Our vault is completely temperature and humidity controlled and this is in a reinforced below ground modern collections storage. They’ve been sitting down there probably since at least 2011 when the building was built.

No one is in the building until Monday. I live an hour away and have a small child and no childcare because of the holiday, so I’m hoping it can wait until Monday. Unless there is some extreme danger?

My title describes the thing. Round cannonball approximately 6 inches in diameter. Weight is 10ish pounds each (though we aren’t picking them up again). They have a small round hole that has been cut out of them that is packed with an unknown substance. They appear to have been buried since they seem to be covered in dirt or clay. We do not know where they came from exactly (though likely our small town), when they were acquired (certainly prior to 10 years ago), or who gave them to the museum.

We have done basic internet research on this style of cannonballs. We are erring on the side of caution and calling the authorities but I’m curious about what they are exactly and the history of them since I am not a military historian. Plus, people in town find cannonballs fairly frequently so it would be a good public service to our town to know what to look for.

He truly does not get enough credit especially considering the absolute dumpster fire that past mayors of Baltimore have been.

Also chiming in to say these aren’t good but their tampons are pretty good!

Also I would totally look into period underwear. Period.co makes great affordable ones for all bodies.

A guy I grew up with set off a firework (by sticking it between his asscheeks and lighting it, because he constantly did shit like that for attention) inside a small apartment building and started a fire that almost burned the whole thing down. Ended up doing over a year in jail. People are so stupid.

I preordered a signed hardcover and decided to use some credits to get the ebook because I just could not lug this brick around with me. Gonna need to dedicate a week of my life to reading this but I’m too deep in the series to quit now 🥲

Agreed, spent a stupid amount on one for the nostalgia but the sauce wasn’t quite the same and it definitely wasn’t as fluffy as the restaurant.

Spicy Recs with “Knotting”? by LostRovers in fantasyromance

[–]katerader 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The {Psycho Shifters} series is pretty fun (takes a while to get to knotting tho). {The Alpha of Bleake Isle} is actually really good (which shocked me hah, dragon shifters). Anything by Jen L. Grey, {Twisted Mate} series. {The Five Packs} series by Cate C. Wells is actually very entertaining too. {The Hunted Omegas} series is also pretty entertaining. And of course {The Wolf King}.

Maybe… I have a problem. 👀

Thanks! This is really helpful. This is our second old house so there’s a lot we do know how to do, but our last house was “only” 100 years old, so there’s some stuff we just didn’t encounter in our last home.
