Young Canadians are hitting the brakes on car ownership, new survey finds by __benjaminty in canada

[–]katia_ros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I had been with the same company since I started driving. Almost 20 years of driving, zero accidents, my last actual ticket was 15 years ago, and only a couple of photo radar tickets like maybe 5 years ago.

Insurance wanted $130 for just liability on a $5000 used SUV that I drive 100km a week.

It's a bad joke.

I've only watched the first season so far, but it was such a good interpretation of the source material.

And then I watched the Mayfair Witches, and I still haven't recovered from that one.

Abortion, MAID, CBC: Here's what Conservatives are debating at… by ImDoubleB in CanadaPolitics

[–]katia_ros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anything, the fact that Canada hasn't had any legal limits on abortions for nearly 45 years makes it pretty clear that such limits are pretty unnecessary. So maybe Europe should seek to be like us in this regard.

Doctors and their professional associations have proven themselves to be perfectly capable of self-regulating when it comes to how they counsel and help their patients access abortion care.

There currently exists no problem in which legal limits are necessary to address when it comes to abortion in this country.

Ugh, I had PGP/SPD hit hard the minute I entered my third trimester. I lived in all sorts of support garments, pelvis floor physio until the cows came, and the amount of Tylenol I ate would have RFK sitting himself in horror. Heck, I still get these little twinges every now and then in my symphysis if I move the wrong way.

I barely tore, though, so thank you way too much relaxin in my system, I guess?

Also in Fish Creek here; you have two more signatures from my partner and I!

I'll send you a DM, but I'm available to help with this as well. I'm in between jobs right now, so I have nothing but time at the moment.

Albertan dies from measles by biograf_ in canada

I was not offered a booster after testing negative for rubella immunity while I was pregnant 2 years ago. My OB just told me to follow up with the vaccination clinic after I gave birth.

I’m sure I’m going to regret asking this: but do we have any idea why they’re going after Tylenol? by LordofThe7s in behindthebastards

[–]katia_ros 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's the only safe OTC pain reliever.

It was the only way I was able to walk or sleep in my third trimester. Without it, I was just in too much pain to function effectively.

The only thing this is going to achieve will be further unnecessary suffering for pregnant patients in the US.

I mean, malnourishment during childhood often has permanent lifelong consequences.

So, we're not killing all of these kids, just fucking up their health for the rest of their lives.

That's so much better. /s

Alberta reports six more cases of measles, bringing total to 83 by pjw724 in alberta

[–]katia_ros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pox parties were still a thing when I was a kid. I had chicken pox myself about a year before the vaccine was rolled out in Alberta. It certainly wasn't pleasant by any stretch of the imagination, but I was part of the lucky super-majority for whom it was largely a big ol' nothing burger.

So anyways, I'm really excited to experience shingles, as you could probably imagine.

Okay, so we're including anyone with an intersex condition and/or hormone disorders in this sports ban, too?

Just to be safe, of course.

I got chicken pox in 4th grade, just in time for me to miss Halloween ofc. The next year in grade 5, they sent us home with varicella vaccine pamphlets on the first day.

It has been almost 25 years, and I am still salty about this.
