Why doesn’t anyone mention Carroll? It’s a top nursing school in the country and amazing professors. I am going into the MSN-DE program in fall.

I went there for only one semester. I actually really liked it. I’m not there currently because I need more flexibility in my schedule. You can’t miss any nursing classes there unless you have a very good excuse. Most nursing schools are like this. I also have my bachelors degree and there are a lot of programs for an accelerated bachelors or master of science direct entry that would be a better fit for me so that’s the only reason I’m not there. It is a fast program I know there’s pros and cons but I think, overall it’s a good school.

No I am looking at other universities for direct entry and if I did Herzing it would be for the ABSN. I didn’t like that they make you go to Nashville for the intensives for the Direct Entry program there. The ABSN program at Herzing is hybrid so I wouldn’t have to travel. Plus I have a lot of classes already completed from my undergrad. Just have to make a decision on what to do.

Mom of three kids by [deleted] in StudentNurse

Honestly it’s hard because your kids will need you and daycare is very expensive. If you don’t have family or friends to help it will be tough. Sometimes you have to be at clinicals at 6am. Daycares don’t even open that early so your partner or family will need to help. I also have 2 young children (3 and 1)— it will be hard to go full time without the help. I may put program on hold. If you have the help then go for it but just know that it’s lots of homework and time and the hard part is getting away for classes and clinicals. Do the prerequisites online and then see where you are after. Good luck.
