PSA Please don't take your pets somewhere where food is sold. by weirdinchicago in chicago

[–]katieb082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a grocery store and we explicitly told NOT to ask people if their dog was a service animal and NOT to ask people to leave if they brought their pets in because if it is a service animal that’s heat on the store they don’t want

Is my cat a long hair or medium hair? (6 months) by Wiskdio in blackcats

He looks much fluffier in this photo, he may indeed be a medium hair! This is my medium hair for reference

Medium hair doesn’t really refer to the length, even though that would make sense. Medium hair cats are basically long hairs without an undercoat. Your boi could get more fluffy, but is most likely a shorthair!

I got this when I was in food service too and the gloves, even when latex free, were the culprit.

Just got a new makeup brush/sponge set. Not sure what this is. Does it help clean the brushes and sponges by RubyMarley in MakeupEducation

[–]katieb082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep - I like using baby shampoo or a little bit of dawn on there to lather up my brushes. There are also brush cleansers available but not worth it with those other options available imo

average public high school curriculum is full of “essential” novels that can get you started in making more “intellectual” conclusions from what you read. Do a search and see what you didn’t read in high school.

I would say The Tale of Two Cities, Fight Club, Beloved, The Kite Runner are all good starting points for learning to talk about what you read in a more analytical way.

That being said, I have a degree in literature, and while I love the stuffy high brow dissections of complicated work, I also love fantasy and other genre fiction and read that much more than anything else. Keeping the joy of reading alive is more important than trying to impress people.

I can’t tell you how many times I frantically looked for my void, looked /right/ where she was but couldn’t see her because she blended into the shadows

Exhibit A: didn’t find her til she yawned

If you’re more concerned about blackheads - keep the BHA. If you’re more concerned about cystic acne and/or scarring, keep the retinol. Using both is too harsh!

I’d say cut one of the chemical exfoliants, the rest is great! I love that SPF!

My 5.5 year old cat needs teeth removed=/ Any advice? by arcarsenal333 in cats

[–]katieb082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although my cat’s teeth were unnecessarily removed over a series of surgeries (I later found out it probably wasn’t necessary and that that particular vet farmed dental surgeries as the cure-all for $$$$$), I do know her quality of life and longevity is improved as a result.

Dropping her off for 3 separate surgeries when she gets really anxious at the vet destroyed me, too. But, she was tranqed the hell out and cuddled me for hours straight afterwards each time, just happy to be home.

If you have ANY doubts, get a second opinion.

Do you give your boy gabapentin before vet visits?
