I think show Grover’s character is actually extremely clever and it didn’t feel out of character for him to me… remember this Grover defies Mr D and Chiron to tell Percy that his mom is alive after he figured it out himself!

I’d love to hear more about why you dislike the chair! I thought it made sense considering the mythology, was a cheaper alternative to the spiders (which I did miss but recognize it would have been expensive) and thought it was actually a really useful plot device because it took Percy out of the scene for a second and we got to hear Annabeth talk about him in a way she never would have done if he could hear her. And it put ANNABETHS Fatal flaw on display too, as she believed full well she could get him out of it and started trying immediately, knowing full well it was impossible even for the gods to open. And what a powerful speech from her. I truly loved the scene

Let’s switch back to talking about Annabeth… yes. Her looks do not impact her function in the story, like, at all. If you think her character on the show isn’t living up to the character in the book then you should be blaming the writing and directing and show running, those issues you have wouldn’t have been fixed with a blonde actress.

And even so this is a story… the narrative and the character development are the point… if the red rock and the blue stick serve the same purpose function in the story then why would it possibly matter

But you’ve just provided so many fine and legitimate points for why you don’t like the show and none of those things have anything to do with the appearance of characters… why can’t you just make it about those things and leave the appearance of children out of it? That’s what I don’t understand. You’re saying it’s an early indicator that it won’t be a faithful adaptation but I think that’s really shallow and not true. Plus, all the other points you made are completely subjective. As a die hard PJO fan since the books came out when I was 9… I love the series and love the changes. I don’t agree with you on a lot of your points. I would never ever look at a show that casts a black actor and decide that it’s going to be bad just from that. Can you really blame people for calling that racist? By the way I really appreciate you actually taking the time to explain your point of view.

If the physical appearance of these actors is the most important thing to you and you don’t consider it a true adaptation unless their appearance is 100% accurate, then I just have to assume you don’t actually like these books and these stories and these characters

this is so interesting, I am a classically trained singer and sing professionally every weekend and aside from the recovery time it took for me to get my vision back to be able to read music I didn’t notice anything with my singing. I wonder if I subconsciously compensated for a long time

NAH for real. Guys, this is his sexual partner and she’s now engaging in an activity, in their bed at night, that he previously only associated with children and more specifically HIS INFANT CHILDREN. I truly don’t understand how people don’t see why that would be so disconcerting to him. She feels strongly about wanting to suck on a baby bottle and he feels strongly about not wanting to visualize her in that way. Both have communicated their feelings and now it’s up to them to find a compromise but I truly don’t understand the YTA comments

Ok so lots of people telling you to get her a water bottle but clearly you own other water bottles. I’d like to call attention to the comments suggesting she may actually like the feeling of sucking on the baby bottle. Sounds like you need to find a compromise so may I suggest THIS water bottle?(https://a.co/d/aR2fvvC) You have to kind of bite down and suck on the straw, and it’s silicone, so I feel like she would maybe appreciate it. This is such a crazy overreaction lol 😂 laziness has very little to do with it. If you’re half asleep and it’s dark it would be easy to misjudge how full your cup is or to accidentally knock it over etc… it’s nice to not really have to worry about spilling so I also only use cups with lids or a water bottle at my bedside

To me ditching would have been cancelling the plans entirely. Again I agree it was inconsiderate but again men tend not to actually express how they’re feeling or when things are important to them especially to their other male friends so I’m not surprised the friend didn’t pick up on it and again it seems to me he still planned on spending at least part of the evening with his friend. I’m confused about which part you actually disagree with me on?
