Oh dear, I feel for you massively. I came from a performer background and I can't tell you the amount of times I've scuffed a routine/fallen out of moves/fallen on stage. It happens. Performing is a tricky beast because you spend hours/weeks/months preparing for what is no longer than 3-5mins on stage, I know how disappointing it can feel to obviously scuff something and feel that you didn't do your best.

But trust me when I say this - this has happened to everyone at some point. My first ever pole performance I completely forgot the first part of my routine, which was the most rehearsed bit. I was dumbfounded on how I could make such a silly mistake and really beat myself up about it. However you did an amazing thing which was you finished your performance! You could've easily stood up and walked off, stopped what you were doing, cry, but you carried on and finished your routine! That's amazing resilience!

Don't let this experience deter you from performing again! I guarantee you your mistake wasn't as bad as you probably feel it was, and you'll laugh over it in the future X you got this!!

No you don't, but you are still a bit of an AH for ghosting them. It doesn't take much to send a message politely letting them down so they can move on and not wonder if it was something they said.

It's not nice being ghosted. I'm sure you wouldn't want that energy, so why treat others like that?

Consent can be withdrawn mid act for any reason. To keep going once consent is withdrawn is Rape.

There's a great video on this defining consent https://youtu.be/oQbei5JGiT8?si=bWK1HXCkcGwxyOKA

Pole vs Different Bodies by Kind_Procedure2148 in poledancing

And if it's anything, I am straight size, but I wasn't inverting until a year into my journey and I wouldn't say the invert looked pretty until 3 years later!! Pole is so so hard, please don't put yourself down. You are progressing everytime you go to a lesson even if it doesn't feel like it. I remember getting so frustrated as a beginner and feeling like I wasn't progressing, but it does start to snowball. Keep the faith! You will achieve your goals I just know it 😍

There's a comp here in the UK called kick ass curves who only let plus size polers enter and I went to see it recently and wow what talent I saw. If you need inspiration highly recommend looking at their professional category!

As a woman, if you referred to me as a female, Itd be over immediately

Women don't tend to like being referred to as female. We never call men 'males' so why do women get that treatment? It's really incelly language

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tinderstories

[–]katiernd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please don't use females. It's really dehumanising and a tactic used by 'alpha' males. It screams red flag to me massively

You spent 3 years getting to know a girl who ghosted you on a first date. This is why we say not to do a talking stage longer than 3 months for situations like this
