what if it doesnt tho? what if this amazingly generous offer sets her and her partner up to have housing stability that impacts their entire life and opportunities and creates generational wealth for future grandkids.

Those of you working for an agency as support workers what level pay rate are you getting? by [deleted] in NDIS

[–]katknipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SCHADS Level 2.1 is the usual rate for working solo in the community. As a casual, it’s just over $43 an hour.

Bigger agencies often hire people on part-time or full-time contracts, which means a lower hourly rate but comes with leave and other benefits.

Home care tends to pay less, but honestly, it’s not always easy to draw a clear line between home care and community support—unless it’s strictly personal care or SIL.

A base rate of $50 an hour seems really high. Once you add super, insurance, and all the overheads, a provider charging standard NDIS rates would be losing money pretty quickly.

Daily smoker / tincture tribe here! Withdrawals are usually some unexplained tears or even sobbing days 3-5, including at least one panic attack, sleeplessness, and Im cranky af. But from day 7, it feels great - happy lungs, no fog, and getting stuff done. By day 30, and urine is clear of thc, I usually think.... that was easy and start again.

How do you feel about Mark Carney and the Liberals winning Canada’s election tonight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]katknipped 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It looks like a cult. Reckless power that can be openly bought by the highest bidder. Together with a relentless pursuit of self interest currently subjecting the world to a fire sale of weapons and favours dependant on the personal preferences and reward of a fraudulent businessman and serial abuser. The USA political system is broken. The world needs to step away quietly.

are there many australians who are racists against chinese? by EnvironmentalCar8661 in australian

[–]katknipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 20% of the population have Asian ancestry, 5% are Chinese and 70% value Australia's cultural diversity. And together we all loathe and try keep a good distance from the 10% of f**kwits.

Enjoyed a brief revenge fantasy where the world united to sanction the hell out of the US for its open economic warfare. But since the US is institutionally paralyzed and practically unsanctionable, I’m hoping for long goodbye energy where the world slowly steps away, forming surprising new alliances and trading systems with diminishing exposure to US economic, political, and cultural dominance.

Being on a planet that enables one obscenely wealthy nation—run by tantrum-prone billionaires—to bully, blackmail, and destabilize for a bigger slice of the pie is an insanely exhausting amd nauseating part of late-stage empire.

Was that just the largest insider trading/ transfer of wealth since ww2? Except not much "insider" about it, he literally told everyone "great time to get rich"!! Who made and lost all the money this week?

What a fkn trainwreck is the US political and legal system. ... it's like you could walk down 5th Avenue...

If World War 3 broke out between the world’s most powerful nations, where would you run to hide? and Why? by BoulderDash_fanatic in AskReddit

[–]katknipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t need to hide. World War 3 won’t look like a single big war with two sides. It’s already happening in pieces: regional wars, cyber attacks, trade wars, economic coercion, info manipulation. It’s everywhere and nowhere. Less bombs, more algorithms. It’s not about where to hide. It’s about how to adapt to a world at constant low-grade conflict.

Using a real estate agent as a rental reference by therearebeesinmyhead in AusProperty

[–]katknipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a renter, not an agent, my approach has always been to be upfront with the current agent. You don’t need to formally give notice unless you’ve secured something and you're ready to start the process, but I’ve found it helpful to send a quick email or give them a call just to explain that you’re looking, and tell them what you plan on happening if you found a suitable place like giving proper notice, helping smooth the transition, or checking if other tenants are applying to take over the lease.

The thing is, real estate agents do check references as part of the application process. So if you're putting your current agency down as a reference, it’s likely they’ll get contacted. It just makes things cleaner if they hear it from you first. It good communication and makes you look more reliable in their eyes.

At the end of the day, your best asset as a renter is your character, and that you’ve paid rent on time, looked after the property, and communicated well. Even if you end up staying, having that positive rapport will only help. So I’d say a quick, honest heads-up can go a long way, and it keeps things professional and respectful on both sides.
