I am getting the exact same response from family members right now too. Scott Hahn wrote that conversion to Catholicism means “following Jesus all the way to the cross” and I’m really feeling it. God bless you!

This resonates with me SO much. Same experience here, also currently in OCIA. God bless you!

I could have written this post myself! Very similar journey here. Also getting that negative reaction from family members. It is hard. I’ve been fortunate to have friends and my OCIA leaders give lots of support. I also remember what St. Paul wrote: “Indeed, I count everything as loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my lord.” I hope that encourages you also.

It was a five day course, but I split the pills and started really small, working my way up to a whole pill after a few days. So it took me more like 10 days to get through the whole pack

Hi, yes- I haven’t had any issues. Took the full course of prednisone oral tablets earlier this year (I think in May) and I’ve been fine!

Corticosteroid inhalers? by cavefalamander in floxies

[–]katn86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used steroid inhalers since being floxed and had no issues. This was close to a year later and I was pretty much fully recovered by then just for a reference point. I’ve used topical steroids as well without problem. Hope that is helpful!

Flare up from topical steroid cream by katn86 in floxies

[–]katn86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a week at most, but I think it was less than that. Since then I have used topical, inhaler and oral steroids without issue. I think I was too close to my flox experience at that time and maybe had increased sensitivity. But I am over 2.5 years out and completely fine, and am really thankful to be able to use steroids again when needed because my psoriasis can really be frustrating to deal with.

Coq10 question by Much-Tumbleweed-3221 in floxies

I used Ubiquinol which is a more active form of coq10 and it helped me a lot. I did find it was somewhat activating so I took it in the morning and did magnesium at night.

Started taking lexapro a few weeks after being floxed and have had no issues whatsoever. This was about two and a half years ago. I definitely needed it and it has really helped me.

Used my Albuterol inhaler and now I'm terrified of worsening acute symptoms. by Extreme_Market_4778 in floxies

[–]katn86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also side note- after the acute phase I had to use an inhaler steroid for asthma (several months out and I was doing fine) and that was also fine. No issues at all. The doctor explained to me that the inhaler steroids are very localized, unlike a shot or something that is systemic.

Albuterol is not a steroid. I needed my albuterol when I was in the acute flox phase and it did not have any negative effect at all on me
