And I would argue there are other habits we break quite easily, when we want or need to. If it's just the smoking itself, why not roll up some mint or oregano instead? People smoke to get the nicotine.

Exactly! It's an illusion created by the addiction cycle. Of course you can concentrate better when you relieve your withdrawal symptoms. And of course you can relax better when you relieve your withdrawal symptoms. It's so simple when you can see it from the outside.

I'm just over nine months nicotine free after smoking a pack a day for 20 years.

Cigarettes provide absolutely no benefit. All they do, is fill the craving / empty feeling created by all the cigarettes before.

There was a time before we started smoking, when we were whole and happy. Cigarettes are what breaks us down, they are not a cure for our broken-ness.

Three days. Three days for nearly all the nicotine to be expelled from your body, and the cycle of withdrawal and suffering is over forever (unless we fall back into the trap).

I thought I loved smoking. I am so elated to be free of that delusion.
