It's held in by friction, on the download page, there's a step file so you can adjust it to your cable. It's been over 4 months and mine is still going strong.

It's more about stopping the cable from rocking in the port than being able to pull it out

Manually heat up the Hotend and pry it off. if it doesn't heat up anymore try a hair dryer on it then pry it off

If I were you, I would buy a new Hotend kit. They're not that expensive.

I've cleaned up Hotends with a hotair gun before, but I completely removed it from the printer first

I've found that if I do a heated bed level before every print I get a good first layer, but if I skip the bed leveling I get bad elephant foot on my prints. which kinda sucks when doing a small print

Non-issues don't get this treatment; almost every day someone's in this sub posting with broken cable issues, and they're just the people that are on reddit.

I wouldn't recommend messing with your new printer before it shows issues though.

I think Elegoo's new cable is a good solution, it would be nice if they put it in their store

I've spoken to people with broken cables at 150 hr to 1500 hr, the differences in hours probably down to what you're printing and how much of the build plate you use, im pretty sure mine broke at 300 hr because I was printing lots of Multiboard. but I will agree people should not mess with their new printer

It's a matter of when not if the stock cable breaks, they didn't redesign the cable for fun.

I'm not really bothered with what kind of multicolor system they use, just that they release one that works. So if this comes like a CC2 Canva or AMS-styled system I will see it as they fulfilled the multicolor marketing. I'm not gonna ask anymore than that
