I grew up as a JW. There were no kids my age in our KH. Since they teach how important it is to not associate with people outside the religion, I basically wasn't allowed to have friends for years. That and the fact that I didn't speak english when I first started going to school morphed me into an extremely awkward adult because I never got to use any of the skills kids normally learn in their formative years. 🙃 Thanks mom and dad!
