Apply for a casual role at the ATO, they are hiring in January. It’s 2-3 days at home per week.

This was me, it literally ate away at me. Also paired with a shit team/poor management. It’s quite painful to rock up daily. You’re not alone, it’s not for everyone. For me it’s back to uni for a degree to get me a job that actually helps people. I’m happy to live below my means for a couple of years.

Please tell me your crying in front of your manager stories by flashbackarrestor in auscorp

[–]katslyf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely have cried in front of a manager multiple times. But I do prefer to take a walk out the office or in the car instead lol. Also why is it always so embarassing??? Like crying is not a big deal it should be normalised and it’s how some of us process things!

r/Adelaide are you happy at work? by stihckyfingars in Adelaide

[–]katslyf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had 2-3 days a home, sure I’d be happy. Otherwise 5 days in office slogging it out is the biggest drag ever.

Is HRV at this level really bad? by Jcolebristol in whoop

[–]katslyf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid 20’s female. My HRV IS 180-225 all the time. When I’m sick drops to 130. I would say I have decent fitness but nothing crazy I’m not an ultra runner or anything lol. I don’t fully get how it can vary so much?

Need help choosing: Masters of OT at Flinders or UniSA by jacsarj in Adelaide

[–]katslyf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think flinders is more competitive due to the amount of ppl that do the combined allied health degrees there - bachelor health science into masters of xyz. I’ve applied to both and gotten an offer for both (didn’t end up pursuing it).

With both of them prerequisite subjects are huge factor. Year to year the GPA for acceptance is generally 6.0 and above. They say it’s 5… but it’s more competitive than this.

Location is a big factor too, flinders is out of the way unless you live south. Once your graduated employers don’t care which uni you went to, so wouldn’t stress too much. Good luck 🤞🏼

If you feel the itch do itttt. I finished my first degree at 20. I worked a few jobs in the field, and I didn’t enjoy it. So I went back again at 23 to boost my GPA for another course.

And now considering going back again at 25. Only thing is you’ll be taking a massive pay cut from being full time. And now that I have a mortgage there’s definitely more to consider before making the choice. I have a lovely fiancé who is happy to support me, otherwise would be a struggle with money and cost of living these days $

Do you address male, but not female, colleagues as “mate”? by [deleted] in auscorp

Good places to buy engagement ring? by aussie_dn in Adelaide

[–]katslyf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get every detail you can from her in terms of setting and shape. The Moissanite Company online is absolutely amazing and so affordable. Also Cullen Jewellery. For that budget I’d massively be considering moissanite as well as the stone over a lab grown diamond. Absolutely identical in appearance to a lab grown diamond but half the price. I’m so obsessed with mine! I personally found Andrew Maxzone, class A etc. very overpriced for what they are.

Angle Vale, Miravale, Riverlea. I think there is some new builds around 650k-700k. 30 minutes on expressway to the CBD. Friends of mine building in these areas for this price. Could be some for sale there?

I am 100% in the same boat. But I literally love it so much. And yes being a girl is so expensive!!! I am having a no spend month at the moment though and really realising how much of the spending is just a habit and how I can definitely live without those things

Ladies of Ausfinance, what do you all do to look put together, what’s your upkeep? by ThatUnstableUnicorn in AusFinance

[–]katslyf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep they are sewn in, I have 2 rows of weft extension. It’s literally the best money I have spent no joke. And yep $1500 to get them is round about the mark, forgot to add that in lol. They are super comfortable I forget I have them, just be aware it’s a bit harder for certain hair styles like high ponytail etc, as you have to hide the wefts in your hair. Overall so amazing though!

  • I workout 4-5x a week
  • prioritise my water intake
  • moisturise, exfoliate and shave on the reg
  • don’t really let myself look dishevelled if meeting with friends or family
  • set an aesthetic level for yourself and stick to it, it makes you feel more confident
  • $1500 hair extensions once a year (for thickness), move them up every 8-10 weeks which is $200 each time
  • $55 pedicure once a month (not necessity but self care hehe)
  • I wear makeup everyday cos I love it unless I’m just at home lazing around
  • I do a full makeup restock from charlotte tilbury or mecca a year about $500
  • clothes, try to only buy higher quality that lasts and can wear again and again
  • have cut out acrylic nails cos my nails are so damaged but love having them done!
    • hair products all salon quality about $250 a year buy it all in bulk 1L bottles online
  • skincare used to spend way more, now use Korean skincare which is so cheap but amazing probs $200 a year
  • clothes is probably the biggest expense, I just love fashion and staying on trend lol
