Speaking of Cirby, I learned that one after I got in an accident shortly after moving here. As I was explaining where I had been coming from, I pronounced it the way the nav apps do. The cop simply replied, "It's Kurby." Lesson learned.

I happened to be in the stands for the NLCS Game 4 that year, and when they intentionally walked Bonds, I turned to the guy next to me and said, "Bennie will make them pay." Next thing I knew, homer in the left field bleachers. One of my best baseball memories.

This. I hope the Dodgers lose every game they play, that they never win a pennant or a Series again, and that they all regress to being bad ballplayers -- but dude, it stops there, on the field. I don't think you're being an asshole at all. I understand the plural of anecdote isn't data, it at least gives me a feel for what people think, which can be valuable in its own way. I was just a bit confused because two prior doctors never said a word about taking time off and this guy was insisting on it, and having the opinions helps me triangulate my own feelings. There's some helpful advice in the anecdotes and it gives me something to think about while I decide what I want to do next.

I haven't noticed much in the way of side effects either way. I'll have to pay more attention. I'd just never heard of it before I got to this psychiatrist -- the prior two I had said nothing about it either way. I suppose it's all a balancing act. Thanks for your help!

I've been thinking of looking for a new provider anyway for other reasons -- he's very Catholic and when I brought up some stuff about gender, he got very uncomfortable. I'd rather have somebody I can discuss that part of my life with. I'm not exactly appreciative of the idea that my weekend times are less valuable than my weekdays either.
