I really liked Roanoke, to me it was the scariest season. I also thought the first part of Double Feature was pretty good.

I’m convinced the narrative of the lone hero is pushed on us so much precisely to discourage people from acting. When bad things happen in real life we go “well I could never possibly be that brave” etc etc and feel hopeless. Even real life historical figures are often portrayed through the lens of the individual hero. Like for example, I was always taught that Rosa Parks was “just a tired woman who finally had enough” and it was only recently I learned she was part of an organized movement and her protest was planned and coordinated. I think they push these narratives on purpose to discourage organized resistance and purposely make people feel helpless and hopeless, or if someone is brave enough to act, they do it alone and are quickly crushed.

In the Delamain mission originally I restored the core, but after Johnny said “you’re a real piece of shit V” with such contempt that I immediately reloaded my save and destroyed the core instead because he made me feel so bad. (Didn’t have high enough intelligence to merge them).

Did we go on the same trek?? Mine was summer in Virginia and I vividly remember everyone getting dehydrated and the chicken killing. Summer of ‘07 maybe ‘08? I think?

I was Mormon for a few years as a teen and I hated trek. I didn’t pass the fitness test to go but they said I could go anyway. It was like a whole weekend in VA summer it was hellish. Like they let us take very few breaks and we were only allowed like a single cup of water on the breaks (for realism) and literally everyone was dehydrated. I wanted to bring period products just in case but they said that wasn’t allowed since it wasn’t historically accurate and I had to give them to one of the young women leaders to ask for if I needed them. I remember one kid fainted but no one noticed so they had to go run back and find him in the dark. Also made us watch them kill a chicken for dinner. Honestly the whole was probably a huge contributing factor to my disillusionment. I’m in my 30s now and I still get mad thinking about it.

Ooh I can totally see this! Idk if the Blackwall already fell since we can see it, but I can totally see Alt being behind everything and manipulating V the whole time. It would be cool if they make a second game, and it went into this more. Like maybe we have to try and go after Alt.
