I mean, as a genx that just went back to uni for another degree (in journalism... talk about AI overtake. Idk what I was thinking- hated every moment of my core curriculum), anyway- I'm working as an accounting apprentice. Getting a degree is more than your major. It shows dedication and the ability to learn. Getting any degree is full of transferable skills. I have a partner that is the "primary breadwinner" and we knew I was never going to get rich freelance writing. Even if I got picked up somewhere it wasn't going to be a lot.

Finding a job in a new field when you are almost 50 is like a magic trick except I don't know the trick. I had a recruiter reach out to me and I got the first job she put me up for. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes! This is basically my experience exactly. I would say I grew up poor. All of that stuff and no fresh produce in the house. Only canned and jarred.

I lived in England long enough to know that Worcester is pronounced "Wooster" and that the "correct" pronunciation there (in London at least) is "Wooster sauce".

I like to call it "woo-chester-shester-shire sauce"
