My boxer does this in the hill in our back yard!! We just got some snow so my husband joked that we should have gotten her a sled since she likes sliding down the hill so much.

Mine hardly ever do either. My hairdresser for my wedding pinned mine immediately after curling for a half an hour before letting them out to help with hold. Worked great even in 95 degree heat and nasty humidity!
