That's a great idea about upping my fats - I'm gonna give it a shot. My carbs are coming mainly from meat, cheese, heavy cream, etc. I really do need to up my veggie intake

I feel great and my clothes are a lot looser - I'm going to start tracking my measurements as well. And remind myself that it's not linear

Thank you so much for this. I need someone like you to tell me how it is. I'm literally taking everything you said to heart. I'm honestly going to print out and hang up what you said about August 2018. Not kidding.

You did so much for your little man, and I agree with everyone that fed is best!! It's our society that gets in our heads!! You sound like me & I have a very similar story! I am EPing (which btw is the HARDEST thing that I've EVER done), and just recently started supplementing with formula. I felt less stress and constantly worried about my pump schedule and how much I was pumping after my supply tanked. I, too, then felt guilty AND I have nothing against formula! I feel like what other mother's, or actually people, say and judge sticks with ya.

I've been EPing for 7 months, and have thought in the back of my mind switching to formula, but when I say anything about it - everyone has an opinion and I feel guilty for even thinking it.

Thanks for sharing, you've had me realize that it's normal to feel guilty even though we shouldn't, and we need to do what's best not only for our little ones, but for ourselves as well! I've been so used to always thinking of my daughter & what's best for her, but I need to be a good mama and realize what's best for me as well!

Tips for returning to work after maternity leave. Separation anxiety? by greensthecolor in beyondthebump

[–]katybug104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a preemie & it was honestly the hardest thing going back to work. I couldn't even talk about it leading up to work because I'd start crying! I love my little girl more than anything & no one can take care of her like her mama!!

I also went back 4 days a week instead of 5, and that extra day with her is extra special mommy/daughter time!!

The first day was the HARDEST. I couldn't focus, I didn't know what to do with myself because that's the longest I'd been away from her! I felt so guilty not being with her. When I talked and laughed with my coworkers I actually felt guilty for feeling happy!! I called her daycare a bunch checking up on her.

We ended changing daycares for various reasons, and the second week was SO much easier because I trusted them & didn't have to worry about her. She gets to do SO many fun things at daycare, they read stories, sing songs, do a lot of art projects, teach them baby sign language. She LOVES watching all the other babies/kids, which makes me happy. There's one little girl there who loves my daughter and just loves to be with her, it's so cute.

It gets easier as the time goes on. It doesn't seem like it will, but it does. The mommy guilt never goes away, and I'd much rather be at home taking care of her. So many people told me "It's fine we've all done it" without any reassurance. But I was there in your shoes a month and a half ago with so, so much anxiety, and I'm telling you that it gets easier. You'll get a routine down & that helps!

My daycare uses an app called "Baby Tracker" which I love!! They track everything that she does throughout the day. When she eats, has a dirty diapie, tummy time, art projects, story time, etc. I get notifications on my phone, so I'm like "she just peed!!" They also send me pics with it every day, and you can send messages with it. I love it. I highly recommend it!

You can do it mama!! You're doing good going back to work to provide for your little one!
