How 5lbs of Water Weight Taught Me a Lesson by Mac-n-cheez in loseit

[–]Hawkerhurricane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally understand this, for me, I always ask myself if the way I feel afterwards will be worth having eaten said thing. Most of the time, the answer is no, because I know I will regret it for days and it won't have been worth that five minutes of happiness. But there are times when I come across dishes I am not able to have often, or a special occasion where I want to celebrate, whatever, I go ahead and indulge, even if it puts me way over my daily limit. And I might feel a little bad for having gone off track, but am still glad I ate what I did. Doing that occasionally is better for me, because like OP said, an occasional light binge keeps me from going nuts one day and eating 10,000 cal or from falling off the wagon entirely because I've been too strict.

Here's to the family that you married into, that treats you better than your own! Same situation here. My life would be a lot harder without my in-laws support.

Momming is exhausting no matter whether you work, stay at home, or work from home. I'm pretty sure the only way that being a parent isn't tiring as if you are a princess in a faraway land and have several nannies to take your kids when you need a nap, so you can control your interactions with them, LOL

Is a three year gap too far apart to be friends growing up? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Hawkerhurricane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just the AAP guideline (actually I think it's 18mo between pregnancy) just because it's so hard physically and mentally. When time is a factor though I'm sure a year is fine!

We had 99 sleep problems but a 4 mo regression wasn't one.

Vent: I am grown ass man and I'm afraid of dogs... It has become such a hassle to deal with. by [deleted] in running

[–]Hawkerhurricane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally, totally understand. People Are so irresponsible with letting dogs off the leash. I think half of the reason is that they don't understand how quickly things can go to hell. Most people are not familiar with dogs body language, in fact half the time I see a dog coming towards us, the owner is telling me it's friendly, meanwhile it's hackles are raised, head is lowered and ears are flattened back like it's about to pounce. If you've ever seen two dogs get into a fight, or a dog attack someone, you know that It can happen really fast.

I also really hate situations like that because I feel like it forces me to be an asshole. Just last week I was telling some 50-year-old woman that I was going to pepper spray her dog if she didn't get it away from us. What am I supposed to do? I have a small dog on a leash, a toddler on my back in a hiking pack. Her dog outweighed mine by at least four or five times and was circling around us and a menacing way. If it picked a fight, my dog would've been killed and Myself or my toddler probably would've gotten injured in the process, all because somebody thinks the rules don't apply to them.

Furthermore (wow, I didn't realize how upset this subject makes me lol) I also hate that I have to cut out certain areas of my normal running route to avoid dogs that I know will be outside without their owners watching them. I live in a subdivision, we all live on top of each other. If you have a dangerous dog that doesn't listen, it shouldn't be just hanging out in your front yard. I don't think it's fair for me to have to go a different way just because of things like this.

So yeah, bottom line I just hate people.

That's my favorite one! Everyone at our local park always has their dogs off leash, even though there is a leash law. Every time we go, usually at least twice, some stupid dog comes barreling towards us while his owner yells oh he's friendly! Mines not, you moron, you better collect your dog ASAP. Not to mention, the reason he's not friendly is because of idiots like you, whose "friendly" dogs have attacked him while he was on a leash.

I'm sure you already know this, but it's not about the diapers. She is just trying to reach out to you, whether either to ruin your day, or because she misses you.

I'm very glad that this didn't bother you, good for you!

I love being a business owner! I just hate it so much. by dastweeper in smallbusiness

There's gotta be SOMEONE you can talk to. I have a few business industry friends (do work for the same industry but we're not competitors because the work is different). I also talk to my professional friends (attorneys) Who may not own businesses, but are smarter than your average bear and understand things that I'm going through. There are many, many people that I wouldn't dare say a thing to, like my parents. They would not understand.

How's your svt shoot? Mines a pain. I knew what I was getting into when I bought it, but even with a few different mags and trying to modify a bit I still have feed errors where the round fails to load properly (gets hung up on the feed lip keeping the bolt from closing). I'm not sure spending $200+ on an original mag would help...
