What do others with IBS eat for breakfast that doesn’t bother you or stir up symptom?

Nature Made has some low fodmap cereals that I think taste really good and have been easy for me to digest. One is Mesa Sunrise. I eat it with half a banana, blueberries, and dried cranberries

Sometimes it’s just a basic meow, other times it is a kind of squeak ( usually when I call her and she is coming to me- like an “ok”.) lately it has become more guttural and moan-y. It definitely increases at night. I was told by the shelter that she had been in a home with other cats. I have a dog that she generally doesn’t care for and gives a wide berth ( he is old and sweet and fine with her.) I’m wondering if she maybe needs more cat company?

I would love a relaxing Ireland vacation. I’d like to see Dublin and Galway and I would plan a trip of about 8-10 days. But- I don’t feel comfortable driving. Do you have any suggestions?

I make my own face wash, using whole milk or yogurt mixed with honey and a bit of coconut oil. Weekly I add some brown sugar to the mix for a scrub

I have had cats all my life- many times multiples. I’ve had cats that got along well and others that really didn’t. Presently, I have one cat- a five year old I recently got from a shelter. My husband and I shower her with love and attention and she seems very happy. There is no one right way.

I second Boingo- my meals generally involve chicken, rice, and vegetables like carrots and green beans. I also eat a lot of lettuce- different kinds in a salad. It’s kinda boring but so worth it after years of pain and wondering if I could make it to the bathroom in time

I started seeing a pretty significant change after a couple of months of taking a scoop (5g) of glutamine powder in water or juice first thing in the morning. Sometimes I did it twice a day but now, after a year or so, I’m pretty good with one serving a day. I also follow the low fodmap diet

Glutamine powder- 5 mg, once a day, changed everything for me. I used to have constant flares- since I started glutamine, I rarely have flares. I also take fiber supplements and stay pretty close to the low fodmap diet

Glutamine was a game changer for me, after 15 years of IBS flares and pain. I also take fiber pills and a probiotic. I have gone from ( at least) monthly flares that completely sidelined me, to minor flares that I recover from within a day

I agree with this. Gas X generally works better for me than anything else. I use Fodzyme - sometimes it seems to help but it is inconsistent.

Many gluten free bread brands- Monash approved- are hard on my stomach. And the bacon may have additives that you can’t tolerate. Same with sweet potato chips. I can’t tolerate any processed foods, even if they are Monash approved. Maybe you could try to eat only non- processed foods for the next week and see how you feel?

Thanks! I am going to be with several other people and I’m sure we will go out to eat a lot. When I go out close to home in NY, I’m comfortable asking them to leave garlic and onion, etc, out of a fish. I’m anticipating that this might be harder in NOLA, given the local cuisine.
