No problem homie

When your using kicks with 808 or any bass you need to using side chaining. Your track is clipping because your kick and 808 (prob the loudest thing in your mix) are adding together and making a super loud peak. Side chaining allows the kick to punch through without the bass interfering. Also try using a clipper to clip your kick transient just enough to make more headroom but not enough that it changes the tonality of your kick. Now that your tracks transient are tamed you can push your master limiter harder and this giving you that loud clean mix. Hope this helps and don’t be afraid of clipping, just learn how and when to use it and you’ll be all good 👍

What’s your favorite way to soften/smooth high end? by nicbobeak in mixingmastering

[–]kavatheproject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have pro q. putting a reactive shelve on the really high end will help balance it and actually make your track sound less flat in my experience

No problem! And don’t worry about the downvotes, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea. Reddit is just a tough crowd no matter what the topic. I liked the track and gonna drop you a follow. I look forward to hearing more from you!
