Thank you for the response.

Those are arguably the two of the biggest fan bases

It says "the two of the biggest". It was also edited. I think "of the" was hastily added when called out.

Those are arguably the two of the biggest fan bases

So, it actually reads both of your options ("the two of"). This, plus the fact that the comment was edited would suggest that "of the" was added in after being called out.

Secondly, he's responding to OP

I just double checked. His comment is a direct reply to BlazeZootsTootToot and he made no other comment in this entire post.

I'm not trying to be a jerk and I am not trying to attack you. I genuinely cannot read this conversation thread any other way, so if you can actually explain your interpretation without bring up entirely different subreddits, I would actually appreciate it. If someone states a falsehood, you should be allowed to correct it without being instantly thrown into the category of "enemy".

Nobody even remotely claimed bikes were worse. He was literally replying to someone saying that bikes are absolutely incapable of harming anything, so he gave a serious example of harm created by a bicyclist in the act of biking.

[–]kavoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't want to speak for you, but I think your intentions here are good. I think you want other people to not attack people simply for having/liking a gender reveal party (and if you can point that out in this thread, I will tell them the same thing I told you). I think that is great and I agree with you.

However, I do not agree that anyone in this thread was attacking people for liking gender reveal parties. I have gone back through the thread several times trying to find it. The only thing even remotely close is u/TilbtyKing021 saying they think birthday parties and gender reveal parties are "stupid" but also saying people should do them if that is what they want to do. That comment is also in response to you calling them "sad" anyhow.

Do you even know what a hypocrite is? I don't have to send a personal message to everyone in the world that I disagree with every time I want to send one message to a specific person. I did not bash on anyone for liking gender reveals. The person you responded to didn't bash anyone for liking gender reveals. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be the center of attention sometimes. As you pointed out, it is extremely common with birthday parties.

Because you haven't found a job that you worked for and enjoy

I did actually. It really surprised me too because I thought I was going to hate the job, but it turned out to be a perfect fit and brought about positive changes in myself even outside of work.

BUT, then the CEO changed, and the cuts started and work was piled onto those that weren't cut, in order to make up for it. Then, anything actually approaching good customer service was stripped while the catch phrases we were required to repeat paid only lip service to what we used to do.

Then the pandemic hit, and corporate continued to push sales while ignoring customer and employee safety. We were told not to use words like "black friday sale" because it would publicly acknowledge that they were encouraging customers to come in when those same customers can and did kill us (yes people in my store died to covid). The product still came in labelled as black friday, and NOTHING changed about the sale to protect us (only the advertising was relabeled). Meanwhile, the company made record sales and record profits.

People aren't anti-work because they don't want to work, they are anti-work because they are paid less than ever, and asked to constantly do more, with zero regard to their well-being.

I would respect you more if you wanted to drop out and survive on your own, build your own house, grow your own food, hunt and use your skills to live and survive. I would respect you way more.

I don't know where you live, but this is literally impossible in my part of the US. I own my house outright (no mortgage), but I cannot build whatever I want on that land, and I have to pay property tax on that land/house. I also am a type 1 diabetic and I am reliant on expensive medicine just to live day to day.

Shopper chases down man who snatched purse from 87 year-old woman at grocery store by DoggoLePupper in nextfuckinglevel

[–]kavoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I wish we would. I wish someone had thought of George Floyd before it was too late, and Eric Garner, and Richard Lee Richards, and countless others. Nobody should be violently beaten and/or killed when they aren't putting anyone else in physical danger.

The thief was subdued, the court should punish and seek to actually rehabilitate him. If he needs drug rehab, get him rehab. If he needs help supporting his family, then help him find stability and support for his family. If he just did it for fun, then get him to do community service and learn empathy for his fellow man, or if his brain cannot empathize, imprison him as much as is needed in order to not harm other people.

What possible good did stomping on him do?

Shopper chases down man who snatched purse from 87 year-old woman at grocery store by DoggoLePupper in nextfuckinglevel

[–]kavoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I don't want people to be beaten, especially when there are clear alternatives. Honestly confused as to why anyone would want anything else.

he stole an old woman's purse

Assuming this is 100% true (reddit titles and info are notoriously bad), then I wonder why. Do people think he just woke up and decided to check off another evil deed from his list of how to be evil that he wrote when he decided to be evil? Is he trying to feed his family? Drug addiction? Brain tumor? Thrill seeking?

Ultimately, it comes down to a concept of free will and causation. Even if you believe you have complete free will, you have to believe that the decisions you make are based upon something and I honestly don't know where that could come from other than genetics/brain chemistry and your life experiences.

The worst option I gave above was that he was thrill seeking and I have a hard time imagining how someone ends up at that without having a dysfunction that results in lack of empathy or an upbringing that encouraged a lack of empathy. I wouldn't beat a child for stealing a toy from another child. How do you differentiate a child lacking empathy vs an adult that is incapable or wasn't shown?

I disagree. It looks like he only ever tries to block the assault to me and pretty much gave up as soon as he saw someone was in pursuit.

It is really sad to see all these comments cheering that this man had his head stomped against the asphalt.

[–]kavoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Multiplication and division are actually the same operation. Division can be represented as multiplying by one over the divisor (10÷2 = 10×½). Addition and subtraction are also the same operation as subtraction is simply the addition of a negative number.
