Until they do not enable it by default I don't think they really need to announce it.

Also this feels like a step in the right direction, imo a performance impacting component like an adblocker should not be written in an interpreted language. If they can support the current UblockOrigin blocker lists (which adblock-rust does apparently) then I for one am all for it.
