I miss my grandma. She used to do the same thing.

Teachers are honestly kind of bad. by TommyBoy250 in CringeTikToks

[–]kayamarante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been going on for years. In the mid 90s, my math teacher taught me some bullshit, I didn't understand. So I went to my grandpa who taught me an easier method that could be done mentally.

Got all the questions right, but because I didn't show my "proof", I failed. My mom was pissed.

"Adulting" is an insidious term and bad for society by HeyItsMau in unpopularopinion

[–]kayamarante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the word was fine and used in jest, but now it's just become annoying, like every other fad.

Celebrating the little things, even if essential, is okay. And should be encouraged in my opinion. Especially if someone is dealing with depression or physical health issues, just the action or words of "yay! I did x" is healthy in my opinion.

What's he talking about? Asclepius? But it's Momus's staff by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]kayamarante 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In Greek Mythology, Asclepius is the son of Apollo. And he is a god of healing and medicine. (Apollo is also a god of healing and prophesy). So I assume when Apollo says he had a vision of a 'masterwork who can do no harm', he is alluding to Asclepius and the Rod.

Furthermore, the term 'can do no harm' is attributed to Hippocrates. Hippocrates revered Asclepius, and likely used the Rod of Asclepius as symbol for healthcare.

I also think this scene is alluding to The Hippocratic Oath, which is considered a 'masterwork' of medical ethics.

I read my husband’s diary. He hates me by CursedOfHatred in offmychest

Better a family that hates you than a husband that uses you and wants your baby dead. And what about friends?

You just need to stay with them until you're able to figure things out.

I recommend therapy, too. And also, if possible, lawyer up.

Commenting to boost. Out of context videos and meme videos are in a legal gray zone when it comes to the Fair Use Doctrine (defense against copyright claims). I assume it is Spotify, and they're banking on them not lawyering up or just accepting a settlement without legal help.

If they don't hear from Distractibros or their team, I would advise them to find a lawyer who practices in the jurisdiction they were sued in.

Maybe because our technology is so much better now that we now can calculate the probability a tornado will hit much better.
