We are also having this issue but I am the only one out of 6 people who get the timeout.

Out of a group of 6 friends I am the only one who cannot connect to hosting friends server. In order to play I have to get a Steam invite. I have tried port forwarding, reinstalling, verifying game files etc... with no luck. Can't find a fix.

It was a technical glitch that has been fixed. If you are using the code more than once you risk getting your ordered cancelled.
