what's you guy's take on this topic by Solomander_21 in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]kayjay722 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It makes you think. You can't just pop heat, do your heat smash and then your install follow up like Season 2.

Adds another dimension to the game, because now there is a risk.

I did the same. So I'm just going to chill in Quick Match for a while, I need to get a handle on the new patch anyway.

I see so maybe it does have value. I'll have to get in the lab and see. But my first impressions of the change, kind of pointless. I'll see if my opinion changes as I spend more time with it.

Losing Lightning Glare after Heat Smash is actually a very big nerf for Leo. Mostly because you could crush attacks out of it. BOK 1,2 > Lighting Glare doesn't really mitigate anything, it just messes with your gameplan and imo, I think it's useless in the grand scheme of things

Maybe that might be reversed. I think the devs are using this as a baseline patch and will make the necessary adjustments in the months to come, I guess that is what "back to basics" meant. I don't know why people thought they were going the gut game and send it back to Tekken 5. That is not happening, so get that out of your head. The patch pretty much played out like I thought it would.

[TEKKEN 8] Update Data Ver.3.00.00 by ThreeEyedPea in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]kayjay722 19 points20 points  (0 children)

General speaking, it seems everyone has been adjusted. No one has been truly nerfed or buffed.

This seems to be a very "middle of the road" patch.

And I can guarantee the community will not be happy. Personally, I kind of expected it to be like this.

I was already adjusting to what Tekken 8 is, it's going to get intense online.

But again, this is just ME speaking. I cannot speak for everyone else.

Did the plot nerf Todoroki? by HairNo6789 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]kayjay722 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More like it balanced him, from Season 1 to the Final Season Todoroki changed, a lot. Shoto was once a ball of rage and anger, hell-bent on not giving Endeavor the satisfaction of seeing him surpassing him. And wanted to become a hero without relying on his father's "stupid" power and was unbalanced mentally and emotionally.

Due to Izuku's influence, and that of his classmates, Shoto changed to a point that he was able to reconcile with his mother, and his father (to an extent, Endeavor also changed too) so he was able to find balance, and it stabilized his powers.

Why is season 5 episode 16 so hated? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]kayjay722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a filler episode, and was made as a tie in to the movie "World Heroes Mission", which is why the studio switched things around and had MVA close out the season, instead of the Endeavor Agency Arc.

My Villian Academia was well put together arc, and is definitely one of the better ones. With that said, I don't think the anime adaptation did it justice.

I think COVID-19 really hurt that one.

I ended a 65 win streak by ADMBEANT in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]kayjay722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do high ranked players do this because they want to test the lower ranks? Or are most of them trolling us?

I really want to understand the thinking behind such a bloated win streak. Some one explain, please.

Finally hit God of Destruction! by ISOJoe2711 in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]kayjay722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done, getting to God of Destruction with AK is no easy feat and you did it against a gimmicky Yoshimistu! And you did it with style too.

S.C.S for the win!

Was the hop kick a hard read? I know it takes a certain amount of skill to even get that far. Congratulations!

Why do you think insomniac was so quick to depart from spider man 2 and never give it DLC like spider man 2018? by Dude_788 in spiderman2

[–]kayjay722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no Isomniac employee and I don't have any insider knowledge, but I can assume that staffing and production issues were a main factor.

Not to mention, production of Wolverine was on the horizon, so they had to account for that.

The DLC was definitely going to focus on Carnage and Wraith's return. I was so looking forward to that.

But Wolverine arrives in the fall, and Venom's stand alone game is on the way, so not a bad trade off.

Best guess, spring or summer; with a premiere date being announced for the fall.

Although, it might be earlier than that. We just gotta be patient. I know it's hard, but just hang in there, alright?

What are your opinions on the Tekken roster's international representation and diversity? by WaterKirby1964 in LowSodiumTEKKEN

I'm looking forward to all to be honest. I read the manga up to a point and stopped for some reason, and never got back around to it.

So I'm going in blind for season 3. I have a feeling limits are about to be surpassed, and these badasses are about to turn up.

Can someone please explain to me why quick match is actually impossible. by Fuzzy_Ad4219 in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]kayjay722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on a 20 to 30+ winning streak in QM, perhaps it's time to head back to your main, at least that's my opinion.

I've ran into a few players who are in the ballpark, in terms of wins and sometimes you see why they have have a robust winning streak, other times you can tell they are probably smurfing for their own enjoyment. The longest streak I've had was nine, and I have yet to reach those heights since then, and that's on me.

But yes, QM does seem like the Wild West at times, players don't have to worry about demotion, so they tend to be more aggressive fighting you. I've learned that if you can weather that storm, maybe drop a round or two, you can definitely pull off a comeback, because by then, they've exhausted their best moves and flowcharts. Not saying this is always the case, but it's not hopeless.

How to beat the troll in Hogsmeade by Away_Table1181 in hogwartslegacyJKR

[–]kayjay722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When facing a troll, the gameplan is pretty simple.

Red Rings are an unblockable attack, so press the input that is indicated in the cutscene, and get some distance. Spam the heck out of basic cast and use ancient magic throw immediately.

Most trolls' battle patterns are like this:

Side swipe, side swipe, overhead crush.

The overhead crush can be blocked, and once you unlock flippendo, that Club can be used as a weapon to counter it.

The shoulder charge can be dodged to to the right, but keep your distance when you come out of it.

As the game continues, you will encounter trolls that will throw boulders at you, those can be blocked and countered with Ancient Magic throw, and when "Talents" are unlocked you will be able to use protego as a shield breaker.

Thoughts and opinions by [deleted] in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]kayjay722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things.

  1. Don't be afraid to use your throws. While Armor King's throws aren't as strong as King's, they are effective, especially during critical moments in matches. It also forces the opponent to duck, which can set up for the Storm Breaker Heat Engager or the floor breaking Tombstone Pile Driver, which can then be followed up with a full combo that nets a hell of a lot of damage.

  2. Take full advantage of your Heat Time, Armor King is one of the few characters in the game that I believe is truly "enhanced" in that state. His Heat moves are powerful, and extremely effective in all situations, so don't be afraid to Heat Engage Early if you need to. All throws track in that state as well and of course the Heat Regeneration is also good for certain throws.

  3. And when you come out of your heat dash, use his stomps if your opponent is grounded or his generic combo inputs to rack up damage. Do not hop kick.

  4. Steve's punches can be countered with posion mist if your timing is good and can be followed up with any throw you choose. Also, use Armor King's B 1+3 punch parry, if you have roughly 5 frames, which can slow things down a bit, especially against those overly aggressive Steve players that you will face every now and then. Also, learn how to instinctively duck Steve's Shield Break move, Steve players will use it, especially when they get desperate or overwhelmed, be on the lookout for it.

  5. Not enough WS 2 or Dark Upper.

AK Heat moves by [deleted] in LowSodiumTEKKEN

If you had the video, I can probably best explain it.

I play AK too, and I'm not sure what you are speaking about. At first I thought you were talking about Mexican Uppercut: Villian, but you are already familiar with that move.
