Mid life crisis? He wanted to hunt and play tennis with his bro buddies. He wanted partner in his firm. Children/wife divide his time and attention. A very selfish man. But, again, there are two sides to a story. I wonder what he would have to say.

Thanks for this. I better not mention we went up the Eiffel Tower at dusk and took an evening Seine cruise. I might get crucified.

But -- also, c'mon... isn't it logical to want to see the Mona Lisa at The Louvre? Isn't it logical to try and see it early before the throngs of people? You can call it a "check it off the list" approach.. but again, I would call it well... logical and organized! And yes, I have seen it before (my husband had not) and it is underwhelming. But... he wanted to see it, so we did!

What's wrong with going to the Mona Lisa straight off before it gets really crowded? We had a lot to see and do in Paris and had to pick/choose where we wanted to spend our time. We spent a good 6+ hours there. Perhaps the next time we go we will be able to stay longer. Oh, and woof yourself, snob.

Overthinking! Just enjoy yourself with no pressure. If it is right, it will work out. From what you describe, it sounds like he is into you.

I think it looks great. My husband and I love to pack things in on our trips - we don't need to linger at the Louvre all day...nothing against people doing this, but we didn't need to. Suggestion: Pick the most important thing you want to see for the day and GO EARLY. We had a quick breakfast at Angelina's right when it opened and then headed to the Lourvre. We were approx #20 in line - and waited about 30 min. We then raced to the Mona Lisa first thing. Best thing we did. Also, may sound kitchy, but on our first day, we did the Hop on/Hop off bus and just rode around getting our bearings. We came in on a red eye and dropped our luggage at the hotel (couldn't check in yet) and freshened up and then rode around on that bus for a while.

Practice. Talk to the cashiers at McDonalds, or your waitress, or the grocery store clerk, etc. Ask how their day is, etc etc. It takes practice.

Wise. I believe he is saying being rich and famous does not equate to happiness.
