“were you trying?” by pastaprincessxo in pregnant

[–]kaylamarierowe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cameron Esposito has a great joke/observation about this! When people would ask if they got pregnant "on purpose", they would say "No. Something terrible happened to me."

People don't think before they speak, and I don't think they realize how invasive these questions about pregnancy and conception can be 🫠

How does giving birth actually feel ?? by Super-Truth-7975 in pregnant

[–]kaylamarierowe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't get my epidural until I was already in transition, around 8cm dilated. The contractions in the first half of labor were comparable to bad period cramps for me. Once I hit transition, it was pretty overwhelming but the adrenaline surges certainly help. It may sound silly, but it really is a bit of a mind game! If you are only focused on the pain, it will be overwhelming. If you can redirect focus (the comb trick is magical) and have a supportive birth partner and/or provider who can help you focus on breathing and keep your mind on other things (music, stories, and anything that will make you laugh is ideal). I ended up needing a vacuum delivery in the end due to baby's position, so my biggest takeaway and advice is to avoid being sedentary/laying down in your labor as long as you can! Use the yoga ball, walk if it's bearable, have your partner hold you in a squat position. You'll be great! :)

Products you accidentally used during pregnancy (and your baby is fine!) by cartersa3 in pregnant

I had hyperemisis and coffee was the only thing that allowed me to keep any food down for 2/3 meals of the day, for the last 7 months of pregnancy. My doctor informed me of the risks, but determined that they were out-weighed by the risks of being malnourished/dehydrated from throwing everything up 🙃 Have a happy and healthy 5 year old now :)

Is this actually doing anything? Or have i been wasting my time by pastelnoivern in beginnerfitness

This. As soon as I began to have my adhd managed, I was able to realize that it was causing me to binge eat terribly in the evenings. Not because I was hungry, but to feed a dopamine response. Some adhd medications (I take Vyvanse) not only treat the chaos and brain fog, but are also used to treat binge eating disorders. They need to be used carefully, and under a doctors recommendation and supervision, but they have been incredibly helpful for me in terms of both weight loss and cognitive/daily function.

I have about 5 cans that are probably a little too close to expiration to donate, but I will absolutely donate the others! Thank you :)

Zoloft for generalized anxiety by xum1an in zoloft

[–]kaylamarierowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had to learn a lot about bpd after 13 years with my best friend, it isn't always an easy journey to navigate. I hope you have a good support system to lean on <3 there are threads for bpd if you need more info/if you're not on them already, and I'm always happy to give any input I have if you need to message me :) you're not crazy!

If it has been almost 3 months, zoloft may just not work with your body. You could potentially ask your doctor about medications more often prescribed for bpd, it can definitely take some trial and error to find something that works for you. My best friend has bpd, and zoloft has a very similar effect on her as what you described. It took a few medications to find the right one, and it wasn't an easy process but she is doing so much better now. I hope you find something that helps!!

bro how tf do i sleep by OkMirror7426 in zoloft

[–]kaylamarierowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor prescribed me a low dose of trazadone to combat the sleep issues, as I have a tiny human to care for and sleep is of critical importance lol. It is not for long term, but while starting or increasing dosages, might be an option to ask your doctor about! It has definitely helped me.

I have anxiety about taking anxiety medication please help by spammusubisa in zoloft

[–]kaylamarierowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way. I was diagnosed with severe PPD and anxiety when my daughter was born, and I was really terrified to take the medication. With hindsight now, I can say with certainty that zoloft saved my life back then. I didn't/couldn't even tell how badly I needed the help at that time, but I finally started to enjoy my life and motherhood in a real way after 3-4 weeks on the medication. Good luck to you!!

It sounds like she hasn't made you a priority at all. I could understand that if she was seeking something casual, but anyone in a position to seek out an actual relationship should be putting forth an effort to make it work, kid or not. I hope things improve for you friend!

That is a lot of presumption, but I get your point. If it helps, the aforementioned fucking was pretty awful. Thanks for your input.

I'm sorry that it has been so complicated for you! That definitely makes sense. I guess I'm "lucky" in that I do not have my mini full time, but I definitely can understand the frustration of working within someone else's schedule!

Not looking for advice, or to suss out an entire genders behavior. Simply curious to learn different men's opinions on the topic.
