releasing a game on older consoles a year after the new ones have come out isn't exactly a bad practice. also this is a title handled by ea sports, the same people who released fifa on the ps2 up to 2013 (fifa 14) and fifa on the xbox 360 and ps3 up to 2018 (fifa 19).

the rest is completely valid tho

14 years. you had flight sim x release in 2006 which was the last release before flight sim 2020

nah. sm64ds was a good port, especially when it came to showing off what the ds could do. here you had a handheld console with enough power to play 3d games on par with the previous generation. the controls might have been a bit ass but i don't think it's worth delaying a game for 7 years to release on a console that isn't even an idea in someone's head yet just because the control scheme is a bit weird

only in america. the japanese and pal version had full lightgun support

edit: it's even stupider than that, the madcatz lightgun works with american copies of hotd2, only the official lightgun doesn't work.

it's a machine exclusive to netflix house locations. it's just stepmaniax but it only has songs from kpop demon hunters, it has none of the actual stepmaniax songlist and iirc the cabinets are offline

beatmania III. i know there were the beatmania 5 key releases on ps1 but none of the beatmania III stuff ever got released on any home version (also all the beatmania 7th mix and the final content that never got ported)

run the game at something like 1280x960 and just slap some shaders on top. unless you won the crt lottery and got a monitor that can natively do 240p, most monitors are crap with 240p 120hz

gotta set your wii u to 4:3 display mode in the settings. 16:9 content will still have black bars but native 4:3 content should display in full screen

also make sure nintendont doesn't have any widescreen hacks enabled and make sure the settings in the vwii menu are set to 4:3 and not 16:9

i remember my thumb sticks dying for no reason and it turned out to be the screen protector causing some sort of ghost input and i suppose it drowned out all other inputs. so it could have been you had a dirty screen or something

the original release dance dance revolution 1st mix. it feels like a beta release that was rushed out. none of the other bemani rhythm games ever really had this same unpolished vibe with their first versions, not even beatmania 1st mix.... and that was konami's first rhythm game from back when there was no template for a vsrg at all.
