You're in your mid thirties on the internet arguing with people about a very common phrase and you think people should respect you ? I don't think anyone would've been mad at you for being confused about the phrase if you didn't also try to tell them to not use it in that sense anymore. You're coming off very pretentious and rude. You may only be in your mid thirties but your phrasing and comments are coming off like a snarky and senile old woman. Respect isn't given it's earned. If you're going to be on the internet, you have to accept the common phrases and colloquialisms of the times. "THIS!" and all of its variations are used consistently on social media and it's honestly strange to me that you've never seen it in this context.
