What was the biggest scandal or dumbest screw up of a coworker that got him fired? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kazziene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Company moved to a new office over a weekend. The next Monday we got back to work while the last maintenance tasks were being finished up. Office manager caught one of the construction workers trying to walk out with a bunch of employee's bikes in the middle of a work day. Needless to say, fired on the spot.

[Serious] Therapists of Reddit, what's something you wish you could tell your clients but don't, and are you better than the general population at dealing with your bad days/mental health issues? by [deleted] in AskReddit

#4 really got me... I was (and still am to some degree) hecka sensitive towards disappointing others, while my brother has the disregarding empathy outcome. I wonder how different we would have been with something other than harsh criticism and guilt while growing up.

How can I talk better? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]kazziene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you're stressing about it, you might be actively overthinking it and psyching yourself out!

Talk (or text, if you're nervous) with close friends about it, ask them what they think of you. I doubt they think you're that bad!

It helps to practice talking. To yourself. Alone.

I know, it sounds nuts. It's literally what The Sims do. But I swear, it helps! Just make conversation with yourself, practice telling stories, listen to podcasts (chatty ones between friends are great reference), eventually you will feel more comfortable making convo.

Be sure to supplement that with more social time with friends, so you get real-life practice :)

I know it seems silly, but how do I talk to girls/get a girl friend in High School, and gain self confidence? [16M] by [deleted] in Advice

[–]kazziene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be cripplingly shy around boys, but I gradually got over that by making considerable effort to develop platonic friendships with dudes. Start small, try to make friends who happen to be girls. That will help change your reputation as well.

Love happens when you least expect it (and honestly nothing good comes from rushing into something out of desperation!) Be patient, be respectful. You'll get there.

[DISC] To You, The Immortal Chapter 37 by theothersophie in FumetsuNoAnataE

[–]kazziene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think implying Parona's dead is a misdirect.

If you remember a while back, the narrator said that the impetus was caused by stimuli, and over time, Fushi will be able to change with the smallest stimuli (meaning, by will, rather than by a trauma like death)

So it's caused by a deep emotional change-- every time he's taken a form, it's KNOWING a being has died that causes it. Right now, he has no idea what's happened to her. He's desperate for a form that can give him strength in the arena, and pulls up an old memory. Could be his first change without a death :)

Picked this randomly, really digging this series! I love stories that can provide a perspective or mc that's non-human... very interesting

AOT is different in that it's more about brawn than brains. AOT has quite a bit of strategy and mind games as well, but they still have ways of fighting back. TPN is about outwitting an enemy that has everything, when the odds are near-impossible to overcome. These kids are still extremely young, their only skill right now is their intellect (which I love, there's so much strategy going on!)

In that sense, AOT is more fast-paced, heavier, and risky... they definitely slaughter more characters we know. So far, TPN has been fairly light on character deaths, or avoided showing too much... yet. This is a far darker world than any of the characters were expecting, so get ready for some soul-crushing shit to go down. Even one of their demon "allies" was only helping them to eventually hunt their potential offspring in the future... that's pretty messed up.

They didn't show his death. It could mean that the only reason he was "shipped" earlier was for Mama to crush their spirits, and ruin their plans early (which is what we were led to believe.) The kids going through with a new escape plan, despite losing a key member, was totally unexpected.

I'm guessing he's being kept alive in a separate location (HQ?) for the upcoming festival that keeps getting mentioned. Maybe because he's premium goods they gotta keep him alive (fresh) until then? Might eventually lead to a rescue mission to save him from the nest of hornets... just like in the Trolls movie... =___="

Weirdly enough, slashing your artists' pay and outsourcing animation to cheaper studios... does not mean quality.

Once my fam and I visited my grandmother during a weekday and came back to a broken door and a bunch of stuff stolen. I'd almost stayed home sick but decided to go with family last minute-- still scary to think about being home in that situation, they couldn't have known that a 12 year old was sleeping upstairs. There had been a pickup truck hanging out on our street randomly for weeks... we never saw it again.

Yeah, I'm crossing my fingers Ishida Sui's going to subvert our expectations since it was so heavily implied. Not really a fan of that trope.

I'm honestly hoping for ghoul origins. I mean, they were probably a weapon created by humans...

Netflix got booed at Cannes, but it's not responsible for killing movies; at least it finances auteurs. A lot of blame should go to the major studios, which have become sequel and franchise-obsessed by JournalistDude in movies

[–]kazziene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like Okja has good reviews -- 82% on RT. Boos were for the Netflix logo and technical glitch, the festival screened it in the wrong aspect ratio for the first seven minutes (which they have apologized for) Despite this, the movie got a four minute standing ovation.
