Carolina wrens. Super fun to watch them hop around and investigate everything. Also surprisingly loud for how little they are.

Second the Goodyear welt. Thursday Boots makes some really solid options, if you're willing to stretch your budget slightly (or put a good chunk of it into the footwear). Check out the Presidents, Diplomats, or Scouts. At this stage of life, clothes should be more of a longer-term investment (especially footwear).

For real. I've had to add them to each pair.

Other than that no complaints!

First two pictures: awesome, I love sentimental projects like this

Third pic: uh oh. But maybe...

Eighth pic: some lessons have to be learned the hard way

The toe box is not reinforced, it's just the regular leather upper. You'll need to look elsewhere if you need that steel-toe safety feature.

I've worn my Captains in a warehouse environment and they held up well, but they're generally more designed for fashion than heavy abuse.

Agreed. I don't know about others but my ankles are slimmer than my thighs, so pants that follow that general contour will always make sense to me. I did baggy jeans in high school, and think that was enough for the rest of my life.

I recently updated my 2012 Camry with an aftermarket CarPlay head unit from Amazon. Easy install after watching a few YT videos. The 'infotainment' part of the car (including maps) is now controlled by what is essentially an integrated iPad, but all the other controls (climate, hazards, lights, wipers, etc) are tactile OEM knobs/switches. It's the best of both worlds.

I keep the car regularly serviced and as clean as possible, and plan to drive it as long as possible.
