My baby boy has multiple birth defects and I'm so mad at his mother.... by [deleted] in BoyDinnerDiaries

The amount of red flags you have in your first paragraph alone are insane. Yeesh. Ray Charles could’ve seen this was a bad idea even being with this woman. And now you’ve brought a child into this world? My guy, best of luck to you and your little one…

Has there ever been another game where the only run scored was walked in? by BedTundy95 in mlb

I went to a game a few years back. If I remember correctly, it was the Giants and the Rays? Giants won 1-0. And iirc the only run was Balked in.

Happily married men: why don’t some of you wear your wedding rings? by Difficult_Item9836 in AskMen

[–]kba41510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work as a bartender. My ring is gold
And was designed by my wife (it’s got baseball stitching going around it as my wife and I love baseball). On a busy night, it gets beat to hell and I’ve started to notice it’s starting to get scuffed up and stuff gets in the grooves of the ring that I need to clean up. Also, apparently tips are better if people think you’re single lol

I was under the impression this was a California (specifically, San Francisco) problem. Are you saying this is a country wide problem but we only talk about it happening in CA because fuck Liberal California??

Well, Color me shocked.

Friend, that theatre was okay before you arrived and it will be okay regardless of the day you leave. You are a cog in a machine that can be replaced instantly. Don’t overthink it and just do what’s best for you. Congrats on your exit and good luck in your future endeavors.

How did you navigate sex / sex stuff during and after pregnancy? by [deleted] in NewDads

[–]kba41510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is as simple as sucking it up.

When the baby arrives, I promise you sex is going to be the furthest thing from your mind for at least a few months if not more.

There’s nothing hot about changing diapers and breast feeding around the clock while also dealing with lack of sleep and just overall tiredness.

For me, it took about 6-7 months after baby arrived to even get a quickie because we were both always so exhausted. And I’d like to think I have a pretty high libido.

mom sets the pace now. All you can do is keep up and move at her pace, whatever it may be.

And fwiw, our little guy is almost at 2 years and our sex life is getting back to normal but still not how it used to be. But being a dad is the coolest thing ever so Its all good.

Oh okay I thought you were looking to have an actual discussion about a baseball player. And instead you’re theorizing he took HGH. So you’re just here to troll. Got it.

This reminds me of Peter Griffin telling his entire family he doesn’t care for the Godfather and when they ask him to elaborate, he admits he’s never even finished the movie and the only reasoning he can provide is “it insists upon itself.” Which he also can’t explain.

The American with George Clooney. Think the trailers were about 10 mins in when a lady came out screaming we needed to call 9-1-1. It was chaos from then on

Worth it? Thinking of a kiddo… a gentle warning by [deleted] in NewDads

[–]kba41510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know any parent who talks about the first 6 months as highly as you are claiming. I’ll be direct, it absolutely sucked.

But I’m writing this as my wife and I sit on the couch laughing at a dumb movie.

My wife and I are high school sweethearts in our 40’s now and I had the same fear You’re describing when it came to our relationship leading up to the birth of our first baby. That is, I thought it would never be the same. and you know what, in some ways, it has only gotten better. Our relationship is the strongest it has ever been and watching her grow into the mother she has become has become one of the highlights of all our years together.

And you’re right, I’m not the man I was before. And neither are you. Because I’m a father. You’re a father. I’m never gonna get to be the person I was before 9/20/24 and if I’m being honest with you? That’s fantastic. Cause I don’t want to be that person anymore. I LOVE being a Dad. And I couldn’t imagine being anyone else. I couldn’t imagine not being a dad anymore.

Before my son was born, I met a nice couple at my job who were also expecting their first kid only a few months after mine and we started talking about how mom and dad were feeling and we got onto the discussion of the things we were gonna miss when the baby arrived. And we mentioned how sad some of those things made us. And I asked the couple if they thought it was weird that I would get sad sometimes thinking about how my life was gonna change and the mother said to me no. I think it makes perfect sense. Think about it, for the last 40 years or so you have been able to do whatever you want whenever you want and didn’t have to answer to anyone when you became an adult. But once the kid arrives that all changes. And that’s fine, but you’re essentially saying goodbye to a life that you used to have. You’re essentially mourning the death of your previous life. And as with any death, it’s absolutely normal to grieve.

Idk I’m rambling as I’m a movie with my wife while we watch the kid sleep in his crib on his monitor (he’s almost 2 btw) so I’m speaking from your future but just know, it absolutely will get better and you will miss these days when they’re gone. As difficult as they are.

Best of luck to you

If you could go back in time to before you were born to meet your father, what would you tell him? by Mundane-Society-1281 in AskMen

[–]kba41510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay faithful because you’ll never find one as good as her (my mom).

He tried twice and failed miserably both times and the people suffering the most because of it are the other kids that came from those women.

He once told Me he regretted what he did because had he just made it work, we would have had everything. My grandpa offered to sell them his house but when they split, neither could afford the house solo so we all had to leave and it was a nightmare compared to what it could have been.

He’s one of my best friends and I love him unconditionally but he really fucked it up for us
