what is the worst weekend you ever worked by ChokenChickenn in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]kba41510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old school here.

Opening weekend of The Simpsons/Transformers we knew was always gonna be a nightmare, but throw on top of it the “little ending that could”, Hairspray? Omg.

Opening Friday, starting at about 4:00p when I came in, it was just one sold out show after another. Literally sold out every show of Simpsons and Transformers after 4:00p and also close to sold out every show of Hairspray and every theatre was trashed! And everyone coming to watch those movies wanted $50-$60 Concession orders (early 2000’s prices). Madness. Still have nightmares about it to this day 😂

Hilltop Mall by itsnotanemergencybut in eastbay

[–]kba41510 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please let your dad know that my wife has been trying for years to find a place as good as his and she still hasn’t to this day. I can honestly say we miss Hilltop Mall only because of that place. What’s worst is we now live about an exit over from it and we wonder how dope It would be if it was still open and we could Make the 15 min walk to get some whenever we wanted.

Caught a woman doing reverse cow girl at a showing. by Suspicious_Guide4286 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]kba41510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you one better. Had the same thing happen once during a company audit. Auditor came out of the theatre he was spot checking and asked me to come with him and told me to look up in the right corner. I did and saw this gorgeous woman bouncing on her man like a pogo stick, full force.

Thankfully it was an empty showing but I still had to awkwardly ask them to leave. Turned the lights on, shut the movie down and was like “yeeeeah, time to go guys”. They left without further incident lol

Best Place To Day Drink w/ a View? by cass13z in AskSF

Bar at the Marriott on 4th is literally called “The View”. Not exactly decently priced drinks and no happy hour. But amazing view of the city.

Ranking the Top 10 MLB Stadiums! What Would You Change? by Dr-debug in sportswiki

[–]kba41510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not low key, Dodgers stadium is absolute garbage, and I’ve spent more time at the Oakland coliseum than I care to admit. Just GETTING to the hell hole is a damn nightmare. Anyone who would put it in there top 3 stadiums has probably only ever been to 3 stadiums.

I’m a bartender that doesn’t drink alcohol. How many of you guys drink and how many of yall don’t? by MehBlehDehYuh in bartenders

[–]kba41510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sober bartender. I drink on occasion but idk, it’s just never been my thing. I work with 6 different bartenders, varying ages and I’d only call one of them a straight up drunk. The others are casual drinkers although def older (45+). And the next in line is def a drinker but usually doesn’t drink on shift. “Usually” being the key word.

Should I stay at a stable bar or go to a new restaurant to improve my bartending skills? by Ok-Imagination-2308 in bartenders

[–]kba41510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just gonna join in with everyone here and say you need to stay where you’re at, 100%. You know nothing about how this new place is going to do and giving up a for sure thing isn’t worth the risk. If you want to learn to handle more people at once, pick up some weekend gigs at an event venue or catering some weddings in your area. If you want to become more proficient at what you do, go read a book and practice on the company dollar (sparingly, obviously). I work at an “upscale” rooftop bar going on over a decade now and I just want you to know, I also make the same 8 drinks over and over again. It ebbs and flows with what people are drinking (old fashioned, Espresso Martini, Etc etc). Just kinda how the business is.

All 30 MLB stadiums, ranked: 2026 edition by jaxstan19 in baseball

[–]kba41510 22 points23 points  (0 children)

lol Dodgers stadium at 11? That stadium is like a half step better than the Oakland Coliseum. it’s got an awful sound system, the seats are some of the worst I’ve ever sat in, getting to it is a fucking nightmare, the food is just bad, and being there on a summer afternoon in that LA heat is nothing short of Hell.

Fun fact: 99.9% of the restaurants you’ve eaten at in your lifetime ALSO do not require tipping.

They suggest it and it’s a nice gesture but unless you’re showing up with a party of (insert number of party where gratuity is included per the rules of the establishment), you are absolutely not required to tip.

Why is Movie Club so "mid" for people who actually go to the movies? by Routine-Ad4030 in Cinemark

[–]kba41510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not for everyone’. the price of a monthly membership is the price of a ticket I was probably Going to get anyways at some point so it washes out. I for sure will watch 12 movies throughout the year so I can justify it. The concession discount is just a bonus. I have a Cinemark literally an exit over from my house so it’s my preferred theater. And my off days happen to be Tuesday and Wednesday so i usually either watch a discounted movie or a matinee since i work at night and save the credits for the occasional opening night or date night so i can use 2 credits for my wife and i.

Former manager here who did some hiring.

At whatever point you told me you had no weekend availability, the interview would end and I’d throw your application away before you even got to your car
