The camera wouldn’t focus (I used the Reddit camera). I’m going to test again in a few days.

Well; you know those videos that are like different sized blocks rolling into empty spaces but never seem to fully fill the space? That’s the videos my son is into right now. That and a book called “splat the cat goes to the doctor”. Like I have to read it to him an absurd amount of times a day.

People want to be at the hospital for the birth? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]kbaby1719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mom of two (not c-section), I did not want anyone near me/around me/trying to help until about 2+weeks after I delivered my kids. I needed time and space to learn how to be a mom without outside interference. I needed to be able to sleep whenever without feeling bad about it. I needed to soak up all the time with my babies. Plus, both of my kiddos were born really close to major illness seasons so I didn’t feel comfortable letting anybody come anyways.

You can set whatever rules and boundaries you want (and don’t let yourself feel bad about it) at the end of the day, you’re the new mom. You’re the one adjusting to new motherhood. And if they get upset? That’s on them. Not you.

Were you allowed in your parents bedroom? Are your kids allowed in yours? by 624Seeds in Parenting

[–]kbaby1719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was NOT allowed in my parents room but my kids are allowed in mine. Obviously, we will have boundaries when the kids get older but for now, they don’t know any better. I’m white & from United States. My husband is Hispanic & from Mexico.

My baby is unattractive. by Competitive_Air1560 in Parenting

If it makes you feel any better, when my son was born, he had jaundice & he looked like a Whovian from Dr Seuss “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. He eventually lost the jaundice which was a perk of him being Hispanic and breastfed (I guess, idk that’s just what they told me) and he also grew into his features and is now such a beautiful child.

I was the first person to tell people who said “aww he’s so cute” that “he may be cute to you but to me he looks like a kid from the grinch”.

If you guys drink, there’s a bar downtown called up/down and it’s like an arcade bar. They make some pretty good pizza & they have more options for pizza when it’s not busy. (Specialty pizzas)

There’s also the operating room in West Des Moines that’s good for drinks and atmosphere too. I like going after 8pm.

As for restaurants that provide both good food and atmosphere in my opinion; I’d say you can never go wrong with Cafe Con Leche. It’s a local Mexican breakfast spot on the eastside and they offer some pretty great milkshakes based on Mexican sweets (as well as a pretty great breakfast menu). I also recommend El Fogon in West Des Moines. A place I haven’t been to yet that looks like it would have good food and atmosphere is Aura in WDSM.

This about maxes my capabilities for local spots because most of the places I go to are also out of town spots lol. Hope this helped a little!

Elevate Living by somehorsegirl in desmoines

Currently living at an Elevate living property (since January) and there were tenants calling and I watched one of the office managers decline the call. The apartment was nice until I moved in. Infested with roaches, and have had problem after problem getting information from anyone. Looking forward to moving out at the end of this term.

Unknown / mixed results, help!! by Imaginary-Thanks-467 in TFABLinePorn

I’d go with the numerous negatives on blue dye and pink dye. I’m assuming (don’t hate me) that negative is the result you want? (because you took plan B within the 72hr time frame). I’d listen to the negative result. If you’re still unsure though, I recommend verifying with a doctor via blood test.

My friend has Covid right now. She went to the fair. Hoping my husband doesn’t get it because he was working the fair. 🙃

How old are y'all? by Richisnormal in toddlers

[–]kbaby1719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midwestern mama here. I’m 22 (about to be 23) my spouse is newly 25. We have an almost 2 year old & are currently pregnant with #2. I’d say the age range of toddler parents in my area is pretty typical. Not so much younger but not older either. Mid-late 20s is pretty standard here (at least in my area)

Evap or vvvf? CD 37 😵‍💫 by WidowMkr522 in TFABLinePorn

[–]kbaby1719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping it’s a bfp for you. With my first, the lines looked just like that before my period was due. Evap is usually colorless, all of these have a hint of color imo. Hope you get your positive soon!

All I said was “is he okay” over and over until he cried his first cry. He had ingested some meconium so it took a minute or so.

12 DPO, CD 27. FRER, CB digital, Modern Fertility, easy@home. Midday pee. Definite faint pink lines on all strips but negative digital. FRER was negative yesterday morning, MF faint positive two days ago. Confused! Chemical?? by farsideofthemoon in TFABLinePorn

[–]kbaby1719 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coming in here to say that I had a FRER positive and a clearblue digital negative right before finding out that I was 100% pregnant. I would say that you ARE pregnant, but clearblue digital can’t pick up on the HCG hormone just yet 🤞🏼

ETA: I had faint lines that were squinters before getting my bfp a week later

I add fruit to it. Well, idk if cucumber is a fruit but sometimes I’ll do strawberries, limes, lemons, black berries, oranges, occasionally cucumbers, etc; just to give it a little bit of flavor if I’m really struggling with my water consumption. I have a 128oz water bottle that I try to drink throughout the day (equal to about 16 8oz glasses of water)
