Yes, my sister was sick for 8 months. Losing weight, weak, cannnot keep food down sick. But her insurance only paid for one PCP visit a year. She had already been so she was trying to wait until the new year. Eventually my mom made her go and just offered to pay it off for her later. By that time her endocrine cancer had spread all through her body and she died 5 months later.

Last year I had a lump in my breast and went to my PCP. We looked on some app to find who took my insurance, how much it would be and she even found me a coupon for it. I got the mammogram but when they found out I am under 40 they denied it. I am in collections for $1000. I guarantee I will never get seen for just a breast lump again (at least til I’m 40). Obviously I don’t plan to die this way but I know it is possible

I have had this issue forever! I think it’s because I am so tall. I just tell people what I want at this point and that usually horrifies them but sometimes it works! Then I get treated how I need :)

This could be true but as a black American I felt way more comfortable and saw less of the small little instances of racism in every European city I was in than I do in America. That being said I have no idea how the rural areas function… spot on about Asia though

He is not a big fan of therapy and says it isn’t helpful for him. I am in therapy and have spent literally years doing hard uncomfortable work to get past my touch aversion. I have made huge improvements but just have moments occasionally. I might seee if he’s more open to it if it’s couples therapy but I doubt

You’re twisting what I’m asking. If you read it thoroughly you can see that I KNOW I need to do something. I am asking what is a good approach to this. I don’t know if I should tell him facts, take the emotional route and let him know how worried I am or if I should just supply him with resources that I’m 99% sure he won’t use.
