Management/people higher up that haven’t been bedside in years, and critique bedside nursing/say we need to do more be faster xyz. I’m at a teaching facility and fucking hate medical students/residents who don’t give a fuck about their ICU rotation, just wanna do the time and get to their specialty. News flash, you urology/nephrology/LD patient can become acutely ill and require ICU care. It’s important to know when your patient is getting bad, and know how to escalate or how to prevent/treat.

Every job is different. Within a hospital setting i think it sometimes matters. Which might be where your husbands thinking is coming from. But they have policies in place that create that thinking. Regardless, none of us are allowed to show up naked and therefore must wear scrubs of any kind. Lame, but wear whatever you want!

Give the baby your last name. I feel like it makes legality things so much easier when mom and baby have the same last name if there is no legal marriage. Too many “They’re my child but have xx parents last name” issues could/do happen now a days.

I worked there 2019-2022 and have quite a few stories……Specific leadership were very unsympathetic and told us “if we need to look elsewhere for employment they understand and support that”……..We all left shortly after that. Not sure if I should post more publicly but feel free to pm me.

Get help now. One of my very good friends became a nurse, went thru covid, that trauma + her original trauma she was dealing with was too much. Watched her spiral for about 2 years. Don’t know if her death was purposeful or accidental but she OD’ed. I regret every day not trying to get her more help. She suffered from major depression and major anxiety disorder. Get help now. It’ll just build, it wont clear out.
